  1. Yes Tigers have real need for infield help, but they may not like the salary like the Orioles. The Jays could find a spot for Villar every day, rotating between infield relief, DH, and try him in the outfield. His speed would be a bonus for the Jays, 40 SB last year. But that bat would be a big boost.
  2. My thoughts are leaning more towards signing 2 mid rotation FA. If you got both Keuchel and Teheran, neither would cost picks or Intl FA money, and both have shown to be durable mid rotation guys who can eat up innings and give QS. Every free agent signing is a crapshoot, nobody knows what the future will bring. Going this route at least will not hamper the payroll, the future drafts, the Intl. FA $ pool, and vastly improve the current starting rotation.
  3. That's a pretty dumb analogy. The Jays have the $$ to do anything they want. They have the payroll space to spend for 2 frontline SP, not that the frontline SP will sign with Toronto but this year Toronto can do anything they want to do.
  4. I would take a serious run at Dallas Keuchel. No qualifying offer attached. Familiar with AL hitters.
  5. Makes sense. For 1st offseason move, this has to be considered good. SP for under 10 mill. Averages 150 IP. Whats not to like.
  6. These kinds of moves are always fun to watch. Feierabend has had some rough seasons however and it would surprise if he is MLB capable. HR are his downfall. I would have given the opportunity to Andrew Sopko, he is having an incredible year and is part of the future. Last pitched on the 14th at AAA.
  7. I bet we see him again. It was hard for the Rangers to take him seriously however, so this test was not much of one.
  8. Gonzalez makes sense if the Yanks don't keep him. More depth is needed ASAP.
  9. I can visualize the wailing that is going to appear on this forum after Vlad botches a few plays at 3B.
  10. Waaaay to early to be commenting on this team good or bad. The farm looks great, and based on what has happened under current management should only get better. Unlimited funds available next year. The future is unlimited.
  11. They were pronouncing his name that way in Dunedin also. Could be right.
  12. Hudson, 1.5 mill guaranty + 1.5 mill incentives.
  13. He is really being overmatched.
  14. He has been used regularly in ST, the Jays have given him every opportunity, but really at this point all he has to offer is a 95 mph fastball that he is having trouble locating, and hitters are catching up to. This was a good idea and I was in favour of it at 1st, but I cant see him on a major league roster getting hammered every time out. It would be very demoralizing for the rest of the team. He was flat out terrible today.
  15. Yeh, trade Pillar for whatever and DFA Morales would both solve some roster problems. We have young replacements for both of these players.
  16. Richard looked real solid today. In command for most of 6 innings.
  17. Pompey is looking like he belongs. I would be surprised if the Jays let him go.
  18. These somewhat good relief pitchers. Where are they going to come from. Seems like every team needs more relievers now. Once again the wealthy teams are going to have all the top relievers. There will be higher bidding for top relievers than the silly contracts handed out recently.
  19. Or comes on with the bases loaded.
  20. 3 batter minimum is going to be fun, or not so fun, if the reliever loads the bases. Could dramatically affect the game outcome.
  21. Why be such a f***in idiot...…..
  22. Initially for 2019, the August waiver trades have been eliminated. All trades must be completed by July 31. In 2020 roster size changes from 25 to 26, with a maximum of 13 pitchers.
