  1. JPA as a pinch hitter in the 9th in a two run ball game? Exhibit A as to why we need a major overhaul in the off-season, not just "tweaking".
  2. Crowd rises at the Rogers Centre to salute a great performance from Dickey.....oh, wait......
  3. Reyes and EE should definitely have been given out and I couldn't give a crap. After the way this season has gone it's nice to finally get a couple of breaks. What the hell was that Mariner's pitcher thinking charging towards second? If Bautista had been out to that he'd have needed a bodyguard to get back into the dugout
  4. I never thought of it that way. I've been so focused on d'Arnaud I sometimes forget about Buck, Gomes and Mathis.
  5. Here are some of my suggested tweaks; New LF, Catcher, 2B, 3-4 starting pitchers and a 1B option player. I could think of more but like the players it's hard to give a s*** any more.
  6. I don't think it matters how badly this team sucks; AA has made it clear by choosing to trade no-one at the deadline that he thinks some tweaks will fix this s*** show. I respectfully disagree.
  7. This might sound more convincing when he gets more than 3 outs.
  8. Hey Jays; see what great defence can do for you? Wankers.
  9. Hmmm 8-4; might watch for a bit now. Just tuned in to see the two homers. Interesting debate on which was the worse trade between the Marlins and Mets; Marisnick had a pretty good night, 2/3 but was caught stealing second. Hechavarria 0/5 but stole a base and was solid defensively, but of course Nicolino and Alvarez were also part of that trade. We'll see where Syndergaard and d'Arnaud are soon. Either trade would probably cost AA his job in most organizations.
  10. Ok that's me done. What a joke. I'll check the slaughter.....sorry score again in an hour.
  11. It seems to me that some of these guys are already mentally cleaning the golf clubs and thinking about the off-season.
  12. Thanks Reyes. *Sigh*. When is this season over? Somebody please, please make it stop.
  13. Marisnik just got a hit and scored for the Marlins. Hechavarria a slower night, reached on FC and stole second but left on base twice so far.
  14. And there is exhibit A as to why: a) The Astros are the worst team in baseball. Cabrera and Bautista should be jettisoned. Look at the pouting s*** when EE sits down next to him after hitting 2 HR in an inning; couldn't even look at him. This is our clubhouse leader? .194 (less that now) with bases loaded. Holy crap.
  15. Thank you Bautista. How can you be .194 with bases loaded in his position? Yikes.
  16. Simply can't get on board with tank nation. In the last 3 years 2 of our first round draft choices have chosen not to sign with us (Beede and Bickford), so I wouldn't trust the current management setup not to f*** that up as well. Knowing our luck they'd draft the next Randy Johnson and he'd choose to go back to the University of Houston-Downtown.
  17. Yep, remember them well. Our catcher was the World Series MVP in 1992 and hit .307 in the 1993 World Series. Don't worry, D'arnaud will get there......oh wait.....
  18. To be fair I did say our major league roster had massive holes, so Pillar was not included. As for Cabrera, even Wilmer agreed last night that if we tried to trade him we would get nothing of value in return. Cabrera without steroids has simply reverted to the 2006-2010 version of himself where he was a .266 batting average, plus he might yet get hit with another massive suspension when the Commish works his way through the list.
  19. I think Griffin said it best in his column; Beeston and AA didn't choose to send D'arnaud to the Mets over JPA; New York demanded him as part of the package with Syndergaard (God help us with this trade in 2 years). The Mets simply knew what all of Baseball knew, namely that D'arnaud is a better catching prospect than JPA will ever be. I never thought JPA would be this bad though; how sad is it when I find myself longing for the days of Yan Gomes?
  20. Every year our record has declined under Beeston/AA, from 85-77 to 81-81 to 73-89 and now 45-55. Every year the payroll has increased and is now almost double what it was when AA took charge ($62m to $117m). We are now the second oldest team in baseball with a farm system virtually depleted of A list prospects. There are massive holes in our major league roster that need filling starting with 2B, LF, catcher and at least 2 if not 3 starting pitchers, so major tinkering to fix this is an understatement. This is a colossal mess and Rogers will have to look at one of two pathways in the off-season; clean house and blow up this team with new management or spend even more on free agents like Cano or Ellsbury (although we may have no realistic shot at landing this level of free agent). Given the track record of the current management group I know which I would choose.
  21. I'm sorry but this is not a knee-jerk reaction or trolling to question the management set up after this horrid season. AA and Beeston have had four years and the facts speak for themselves: 2010: $62,234,000.00 payroll (21st in mlb), 85-77 record, (10 games out of wild card), (29.2 years median age of squad) 2011: $62,567,800.00 (23rd), 81-81, (10 games out), (28.3) 2012: $75,489,200.00 (23rd), 73-89, (20 games out), (27.7) 2013: $117,035,100 (9th), 45-55, (11 games out and counting), (29.6 median age - 2nd oldest in MLB) The knee-jerk reactions happened in the off-season when the management lost its collective mind and traded the team of the future for this. God help us.
  22. This is not funny any more. This is truly horrible, like watching a mortally wounded soldier getting bayoneted over and over again. Somebody please, please make this stop. AA, for the love of God, this team is not getting better next year, there is no magic wand to fix this and fairies do not exist. Blow this up fast or watch your season ticket base shrink massively.
