  1. Amaro is very similar to Fat Alice, actually. They both share a bizarre fetish for adding old washed-up vets in the hopes that they'll just rebound to their career-best production, and they both are too fraidy-scared to blow up their overpaid and underachieving teams. And no, Amaro isn't responsible for the Phillies' championship - that was Ed Wade and Pat Gillick's doing.
  2. JPAtrocious hasn't improved at all.... still garbage.
  3. To be fair, that scumbag Loria isn't serious about rebuilding. As soon as his prospects start to blossom at the major league level, he will sell them all off immediately for pennies on the dollar. Anyone who followed the Expos knows how slimy he is.
  4. Oh, maybe it's the fact that they've lost 55 games, are 10 games under .500, are in last place, and cost $118 million and all our best prospects to put together? "Tinkering" does nothing when the core is poisonous.
  5. It's not the only reason. Beeston, Fat Alice, and the players are also to blame. But a team can't fail this hard from the top down without the manager deserving any blame at all. Not to mention, literally no other team in the league was even considering Gibbons (for a good reason). Do you really think any outside GM we could hire would actually keep that loser?
  6. Newsflash: IT'S NOT WORKING. They're now 10 games under .500, 14.5 games back of the Sox, and in last place with a $118 million roster. Now is not the time for "laid back." Gibbons' "laid back" philosophy only serves to enable our loser players to ignore him during games and continue do stupid s*** like the "lo viste" sign while they're getting their asses kicked. It's a disgrace. This team needed a boot up the ass, apparently.
  7. Yeah, let's all not blame Gibbons for his role in failing to motivate the team and cut down on the stupid mistakes, and enabling the cancerous environment of the clubhouse. Awesome. If a manager mattered as little as some of you claim, no team would ever waste the money hiring one, and the players could just manage themselves.

  9. He's not a leader and never was. Also a very selfish player on the decline. At best, he's a complimentary player on a contender. Maybe the Pirates would take him back.
  10. Not only does the manager share in the blame for that, the fact that Gibbons has never had a team that DOESN'T suck at baseball (besides maybe the extremely mediocre '06 team) says it all about him. Again, nobody else wanted him, and his hiring was 100% an arrogant show-off move by Fat Alice. "This team is so stacked, they can win even with Gibbons as the manager! I'm a genius!" was probably his thought process. Totally blew up in his face, they both need to go.
  11. f*** these players, actually. Most unlikeable team ever, they don't deserve to win. I hope they keep doing their little celebrations and "lo viste" signs while getting their s*** pushed in. Those losers deserve the humiliation - although they're all probably too arrogant to understand how bad they look.
  12. Pile it on, Dodgers! Hope this loser excuse for a team loses 20-3.
  13. The fact that this team sucks so bad but Fat Alice is hemming and hawing over trading one reliever at the deadline and missing the bigger picture is depressing.
  14. Fat Alice still doesn't get it. Sorry, not impressed with "possibly maybe" trading ONE reliever at the deadline when the whole team needs to be sold off, including the entire bullpen. Not only that, but I don't trust him to trade said reliever for prospects instead of washed-up vets.
  15. Because standing pat and not selling would be the incompetent thing to do, and Fat Alice is an incompetent buffoon.
  16. And I plan to grow a money tree in my backyard next year. Not sure which "plan" is more delusional.
  17. Good question. The Rangers signed A-Rod before the '01 season and brought back Juan Gonzalez before the '02 season. The Mets added Glavine and Cone before the '03 season. The Mariners signed Beltre before the '05 season, made that hideous Bedard trade before the '08 season, and brought in Figgins and Cliff Lee before the 2010 season. So yeah, I'd say those teams retooled. I did forget Boston, thanks for noticing. My bad. They're the exception that proves the rule - and they still might not even make the playoffs. Even then, I'd say the trade they made with the Dodgers last year qualifies as more rebuilding than retooling. They essentially made a huge salary dump and gutted their roster of overpaid cancers, as opposed to adding to a bad team through big signings like A-Rod in '01 or panic trades for star players like Cliff Lee in 2010.
  18. It's not just the top-end pitching. Yes, our rotation sucks, but we also have no depth and the catcher and 2B are a joke on this team - especially at C, where we have a -1.2 team RPP and -5 rSB, meaning our catchers are below league average at throwing out runners, preventing steals, and blocking pitches. On top of that, JPAtrocious can't even call a game - Gibbons has had to take over and start calling games from the dugout sometimes. The "talent" we have among our position players is a bunch of selfish players who are declining and lack baseball IQ. We have one of the worst and dumbest defensive teams in baseball - top 10 in team errors, allowing 4.85 runs per game (only Houston has allowed more) with a -6.2 team ErrR and -8.4 team UZR. Even the vaunted bullpen is starting to implode from overuse - and if the strength of your team is the middle relievers, your team sucks anyway. The GM is a dumbass who destroyed our farm system to put together this horrible team. The manager is incompetent at motivating his players, instilling fundamental baseball, and cutting down on errors and sloppy play. The president knows nothing about baseball and still has a job basically because of organizational politics. This team is so screwed up in every conceivable way that the only thing to do is blow it up. "Retooling" does nothing when the core is flawed.
