  1. 2016 Awards Best Overall Poster: Gov (also the keeper of our cherished dancing Jays undies man meme for W's) Funniest Poster:IWok (HM to BBBB whose off the wall stuff does make me chuckle) Nicest Poster:G-Snarls Best Foreign Poster: Terminator (Was great in politics thread this year in particular) Dumbest Poster: Most out of touch poster: Best Female Poster: VDub (I think she is in a race with herself, but she is good regardless) Best New Poster/Rookie Of The Year: Pendleton Comeback poster of the year: Most Annoying Poster: West Texas Forever Best Troll: There are no "best" trolls Best Mod: KingKat (most active and consistent) Best infrequent poster:L54 Thread of the year: The one Boxy started immediately after Edwin mashed the HR to beat the O's in the WC Best new board meme: Biggest disappointment (decent poster that slipped): Worst Overall Poster: Worst Troll: (Wouldn't give them the satisfaction) Staying away from the negative stuff. I think we all know what/who those issues are. Really enjoy BJMB. Its actually hard to create this list. Some very intelligent people on internet Message Board: NJH, Dinger, BTS, Int Wok, AG, Boxy, Dick_Pole, KK, Terminator, olerud etc etc. who make some pretty incredible/thoughtful baseball and OT Forum contributions. Really enjoy King and GD as young guys who contribute a lot. And what would the board be without Spanky? (presently banned again I see). Glad Gov is a mod for this year. He is active and loves the GDT so that should be helpful.
  2. Pillar a consistent 3+ WAR producer projecting that again. I know its mostly from D, but few including myself, thought he would never be more than a 4th OF. Pretty cool. Wish he could hit lol
  3. Good decision. Excellent choice. Congrats or condolences Gov. Make the BJMB great again.
  4. Really sorry to see him go. He has been around so long and at times as dominant pen arm as we have ever had. I'll never forget the run he had the last 2/3rds of 2015. Don't like the 4 year deal much for a pen arm, so not surprised. Wish we would have extended him in 2015 or 16. Good deal for him and his family.
  5. 1B or OF. Who cares. You would still fight him BBBB.
  6. I give. His 2011 wRC+ 141 in AAA. He always had some offensive talent. His small sample size stints here never translated into much...and if I remember correctly he sucked in the OF. SEA also busted on him. I'd love to see him get another shot. He was always a muscular guy, although now he looks decidedly hug-er.
  7. Get this done. Tough year in some ways but still love the Cecil. His 2016 numbers overall were pretty good.
  8. I was being facetious really. He does have that pumped up Bonds ish look so it's hard to overlook. It's only an issue if you sign him, he is using, and he gets caught. Even then he is a flyer anyway.
  9. I'm all for this signing, but pretty sure he has been eating the same kind of dog food that Cola was.
  10. For Pearce. Absolutely. Guy beasts LHP.
  11. Told my 8 year old son today "RA Dickey was signed by the Atlanta Braves" thinking after 4 years of watching him pitch he might have some emotional attachment, as he does to many of the Jays. His answer..."yeah!"
  12. Super happy about this. Wish him well...but his time here...even at that price...was done. The 4 year circus has left town. A seemingly nice guy - a decent 2 WAR innings eater who came with an unappealing caddy, who could never supplant the angst we still face every time Thor takes the bump.
  13. Just such a good player. Took that 2B with 2 strikes the other way. I wish we would have signed him this past off season. SH who makes a lot of contact that can play anywhere. What a game. Was hoping for CLE but happy for the Cubs who did it the hard way.
  14. Definitely. My baseball and other addictions are already enough to drive my wife nuts. Plus a baby girl due in March. Thx for anyone who put my name forward though. Hope someone steps up for you all.
  15. 1.6 WAR for the cubbies this season. A 72 wRC+. Heyward's D is awesome, but that's a scary contract.
  16. $184 million for a glove in Heyward.
  17. Just tried. Still a blackout. argh.
  18. Trying to get a stream of this and my MLB TV wont work in the US? thanks
  19. CLE doing everything right including all the little things. Big 1 out SF last inning. Their pitching is doing to the Cubs exactly what they did to us and BoSox. Not giving up any big hits with RISP. Playing well and lucky all at the right time. Hard to believe all this without Carasso and Salazar in the rotation. I'm pulling for them. Likeable bunch.
  20. Quite a game. Miller just so much filth. Gawd, I wish we were playing in this WS so much. So close...again.
  21. ^ this. I don't even know why we are still talking about this regardless of what happened. It is what it is. Such a shame. RIP. The end.
  22. Bruce is LH but he f***ing sucks. And as you point out horrible D. Didn't we see enough of that with Saunders.
  23. The most telling stat for us isn't there. I think we were 3 for 28 with RISP. I don't know what CLE was, but 3-5 more key hits with a big fly or two could have tipped the series it was that close
  24. Both were but 2015 more so. We got outplayed in 2016 and just didn't hit. After Gibby left Stro in for a 3rd time through the order and we lost Game 3, 4-2 it was over. The way we played all of 2016 I almost felt lucky to be where we got too beating the O's and TEX. In 2015 KC got BABIP luck, and we had the dropped ball behind Price. We had the bad strike zone against Revere and Navvy when we were in a position to take it to game 7. Who didn't think we were coming back? When it was finally over my 7 yr old son erupted into tears, and I had to try to keep my composure to comfort him. We were both blowing an emotional gasket over the ump.
  25. CLE has it all going their way. Replacement for Gomes hits 2 HRs in his first WS game. Just wow. Love the post season.
