    I dont know how you can call this reality. The season has already had many twists and turns and you cannot definitively say we are out of it. Yes it has become more challenging with EE's injury and a few starting pitchers coming off the market but we are 1 game back and the majority on the forum would have jumped at the chance to be in this position. We have been competitive and are in a position to so so again. There is still a long way to go and the 'reality' is that neither yourself nor I can say for sure that we are dead in the water or otherwise at this point.

    That was an enjoyable watch! Guillen's and Jackson's were pretty special but nothing beats ankiel's for me - just love that whole situation where the runner doesn't even bother trying and ankiel nails the strike.

    Redmond must be annoyed that he isn't getting a chance to start.does well in '13 but has to clear up hendriks' mess instead. Deserving of more. Nolin deserves a shot as well.

    This may not be a good day to suggest this if the jays can't score any runs but would it be a good idea to create a 'post-game reaction' thread separate from the GDT to discuss the games. Due to time differences I don't get to follow many games live but would appreciate a summary and discussion thread. The GDTs tend to be too large and time-consuming to navigate.

    Ill jump in on this. Im a Scottish baseball fan from Glasgow, living in Dundee (partick thistle are my team, monajags!). I started following the blue jays in 2003ish when I visited Toronto and visited a game. It is the equivalent of following partick thistle...this board is interesting for getting valuable insights into the game. Mlb.tv and actually watching games is the best thing to get to know the games. I have the same problems as U here, I think I might be the only baseball fan left in Scotland.

    This topic deserves discussion. Rogers has been woeful this year and his position on the team should be in question. Better pitchers are being sent down because Rogers has no options. Having a 'mop-up' man is all well and good but that should be someone who is capable if contributing in a tight game also. People may not agree with this, but it is worth discussion. Posters have to get away from the name above the post and actually read the content. Good threads are being strangled by daft comments obsessed with status in a forum. It can get very irritating.

    I don't have the option of listening to zaun and people here seem to have a low opinion of him but its so refreshing to hear someone giving an honest opinion of the jays. So fed up of listening to the pish that Martinez and tablet spout on the Tele.

    not to put too much pressure on it but I would love a sticky topic that ran down the most important advanced stats. I clearly rely too much on era, avg, etc. Mainly because these are what im exposed to when I manage to catch a game. I've looked up explanations for these stats but there not sticking for some reason. A laymans guide would be incredibly useful in following these debates and gaining a better understanding.
