    admittedly I didnt consider this but it doesn't seem right that players earn millions of pounds undeservedly through creating a false representation of their abilities through steroid use.

    Also the power should be given to teams to cancel/renegotiate with any player found to be cheating.

    Nowhere near strong enough. 2 year ban first offence, life ban second. Strictest drug program in American sports means bugger all, baseball should compare itself to athletics instead.

    Totally agree with herpderp. Nullify the contract on top of a two year ban - its gained under false pretences. Second instance should be lifetime ban.

    Sanchez plus stroman is a lot to give up obviously but there's too many prospects that have come up and not reached expectations. Its a gamble but at least we have more information on shark. Ideally AA would swing it without moving stroman but i wouldn't be devastated if it took both.

    You ask me if I was watching last year and then refer to Johnson as the best player in the marlins trade?? Last year was awful aye but it doesn't take too much imagination to see the lineup as extremely productive, strong enough even to absorb goins' bat. Bautista, encarnacion, Reyes will be quality. Lawrie, lind and rasmus just need to be more consistent - and why can't they be? And it will interesting to see how melky plays without a tumour in his back. Lots if reasons for positivity!!

    There's so much negativity here. Injuries and a bad April played a huge role in the awful 2013 season. A healthy reyes/lawrie/morrow would already be a massive boost to our chances. Trade for shark, even if it takes Sanchez. Too many prospects don't make the grade anyway - at least we know we'd be getting a solid #2 starter. That gives us a potentially brilliant lineup, a great bullpen and a solid rotation that has options.
