  1. look at the last three years - he has done well in Chicago. 2 WAR player that is a big upgrade over what we've shovelled out to play 2b the last few years
  2. Agreed - if you are saving $$ to spend on bullpen or SP etc, this move is better than FA signing of Lowrie.
  3. it would be great if Kendricks would wave his no trade clause and come to Toronto. That would be FAP worthy!
  4. Because Valbuena has already succeeded in Majors. Travis has never played above AA Travis is a question mark
  5. Are the Jays going for it now? I think they are. Long term they are stacked with young pitching prospects - Short term - Stroman, Hutchison, Sanchez, Norris Long term - Hoffman, Osuna, Castro, SRF, Labourt, Smoral etc So pick one and make a deal to compete now. Not all of them will make the majors, may as well use some to get value while they are prospects. Valbuena can help in the majors now. He's an upgrade at 2B. That's my opinion anyway
  6. so many threads - did anyone reply? Mike Lopinski ‏@Mikeleelop · 16m16 minutes ago @Wilnerness590 @ShiDavidi @SNJeffBlair @AndrewStoeten @DSzymborski would #Cubs and #bluejays consider Osuna for Valbuena? Dan Szymborski ‏@DSzymborski · 17m17 minutes ago @Mikeleelop I believe they would. @Mikeleelop @DSzymborski interesting, at some point #bluejays should use their pitching prospects that are 2 years away? I Valbuena a good option at 2B? - 05 Dec Dan Szymborski @DSzymborski @Mikeleelop He's not great, but the 2B market stinks and if the Jays want to do win now, they gotta keep pushing. 04:21 PM - 05 Dec 14
  7. how about Valbuena from the Cubs for Osuna? projected to be a 2 WAR player in 2015. plays 2b and 3b, shows as plus defender at 2b. Had a .341 obp last year
  8. trade Osuna to Cubs for Valuenaba....
  9. goins bats LH
  10. Break up righties, get smoak some better pitches
  11. Reyes Martin Bautista EE Smoak Donaldson Saunders Goins/Travis Pompey Bench Navarro Pillar Thole Valencia Tolleson/izturis Need another OF
  12. something I think AA will be praised for universally
  13. Didn't beeston say payroll was going up?
  14. No way in f*** do you trade Norris
  15. U think Rasmus wants to come back to play for gibbons after he was stapled to the bench in September of his UFA offseason? I don't
  16. Cabrera SD SS non tendered
  17. Plus romero's money I'd like to see izturis dfa
  18. did you stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night??
  19. because you are winning the free agent contest??
  20. why would he come cheap if he's projected to do so well?? 4. Steven Souza, OF, Washington (Profile) PA AVG OBP SLG wRC+ WAR 550 .268 .335 .445 118 2.4 Among the seven total instances in which he’s recorded at least 200 plate appearances at a given level in a given year, Souza’s walk-strikeout differential of just -5.6 percentage points this year at Triple-A Syracuse is the best such mark. A greater control of the strike zone complemented Souza’s already notable physical tools. Indeed, Souza is projected by Steamer to produce 19 home runs and 25 stolen bases per every 550 plate appearances.
  21. 1. Trade for Saunders 2. Trade for Bruce 3. Sign Aoki (2years) 4. Sign Markakis (2years) 5. play Dirks+pillar 6. sign melky (3years) that being my preferred order, I don't know what it would take to get Saunders or Bruce (who really does?)... if it takes Norris - no f***ing way, if it takes Osuna go for it (he's years away and a TJ risk).. But Seattle is competing in 2015 they would want a MLB ready piece. I don't think JA happ gets it done. it will be exciting to see this play out over the next few weeks
