  1. San Diego climate is very moderate. Rarely do they have days over 80 degrees. Almost every day is 72-76 degrees Toronto summers are much more unbearable
  2. He's being paid like a 1 war player. Oakland did not value him and chose to go in a different direction for a reason
  3. He's a 1WAR player. so that's close to 7million a year. I agree bullpen is priority. rotation will be tough, need some of the young guys - sanchez, Norris to step up and provide low cost contribution
  4. Agree can expand to say Saunders, Smoak, Estrada, Martin, Navarro trade proceeds & Donaldson + sandwich draft pick replacing Melky, Lind, Happ, Navarro (to be moved)and Lawrie + 1st round pick
  5. Redsox just signed nestor Molina. wasn't he the big Jays prospect that was given up to get Santos?? how the mighty have fallen... prospects don't always turn out. sometimes you get more value out of a trade then waiting to see if they turn out
  6. many will be locked up with extensions during the season
  7. Reds did try stretching Chapman out and it failed. I think they tried a couple times, as recent as 2014 season. He went to DL as a result and came back in his normal closer role
  8. Agree. No need to go hard after holland. Lower level prospects I'm okay with. Guys like Norris, sanchez who will contribute in 2015 no f***ing way
  9. I'd rather give some $ to morrow to come back as #5 to start season, leave Norris in aaa and keep sanchez in bullpen this year. You have some money to get other options at the back end. I just don't like idea of giving up Norris when he's this close to contributing at a high level. Cardinals use these young starters and have a long term history of success
  10. Sanchez rp, Norris #5 sp > holland rp, sanchez #5sp Norris more polished and ready to transition to MLB like Stroman did last year
  11. Would osuna be enough to get Royal interest?
  12. Would osuna get the royals attention for holland? Obviously Norris is untouchable
  13. He cleared waivers, so Red Sox control him in their minor league system They would have to acquire him through a trade now
  14. If the jays sign Robertson and Cabrera signs elsewhere I think they lose their first and the Cabrera comp pick
  15. I think your logic is flawed. You assume that if the trade was not made that no other payroll would be added
  16. EE is a poor defensive 1b. Bottom five in AL
  17. Still"saved money" because Saunders is less costly than Cabrera would have been. Now how much $ will the jays spend? Still like the trade
  18. same guy - never played with Toronto. We cut him and kept the relic SS last number is WAR 2012 Cubs 90 303 4 26 28 0 11.9 % 18.2 % .121 .260 .219 .310 .340 .290 77 -2.1 -10.4 14.3 1.4 2013 Cubs 108 391 12 34 37 1 13.6 % 16.1 % .160 .233 .218 .331 .378 .315 97 -0.7 -2.2 9.7 2.1 2014 Cubs 149 547 16 68 51 1 11.9 % 20.7 % .186 .294 .249 .341 .435 .342 116 0.0 9.7 -1.1 2.7 2015 Steamer 134 569 14 61 58 3 11.4 % 19.6 % .149 .279 .240 .330 .388 .320 101 -0.4 0.0 0.4 1.9
  19. true, but if you are "going for it" - don't you want a more solid option at 2B?
