  1. Anything on singer in the last few days?
  2. Agreed!,, have you watched Kiermaier the last couple of days? He is a lot faster than pillar and takes better routes to balls. so some spectacular plays made by pillar are routine for Kiermaier. Also Kiermaier has a cannon of an arm. Pillar has a few assists this year but he has a pop gun arm and teams will run on him
  3. I'm going to vote with my fourth email address today! FYSMC let's get Donaldson in
  4. i hate kawasaki the self promoting poser. he screams phoney go away mascot
  5. Why r u on this board Joke gm Joke mgr Joke organization
  6. I thought Castro was 3 weeks. He hasn't pitched for 3.5 weeks and there's been no mention of him Any word?
  7. but you have made a very good point that many ignore when they s*** on the hopelessness of Aaron Sanchez
  8. Comment From Bret Are "less aggressive" delivery and "more upright and more crossfire" good things? I'm used to hearing about Aaron Sanchez' delivery becoming "too upright". Kiley McDaniel I hate crossfire except as a last ditch effort you do in AA or higher to make stuff play better. I also like aggressive deliveries, like what Hoffman used to do, more than upright and stiffer, tall-and-fall type deliveries. Some teams/scouts disagree with these opinions. There's pros and cons and examples on both sides and no one player validates or invalidates these opinions.
  9. Comment From mikeleelop why would the Jays change Hoffman delivery? Also your comment about "letting Hoffman loose next year" means he's holding back or just not a max effort guy? Kiley McDaniel This is Hoffman as an amateur. He's aggressive down the hill, exploding at the plate. He isn't that now, much closer to Aaron Sanchez mechanically. I hope TOR is toning it down, having him pitch to contact, not throw the hard CB (his best pitch), throw more CH as a way to limit the pitch count to protect his arm while it's more fragile, as he's coming off of elbow surgery. I don't know if that is the case, but I hope that's what it is.
  10. its been a tough year on his body having to play first base for a month when Bautista was DH'ng after his breakdown hope he get regular turn at DH and that helps
  11. Comment From Mike Off of the Osuna question...would an org see more value in Osuna as a mid rotation starter or higher end reliever like he is right now? Kiley McDaniel mid rotation starter is worth more than basically every reliever in baseball, maybe minus a couple of them. It's just much harder to do one and people already thought Osuna may not be able to do it
  12. Comment From Curioso Matt Boyd. He's cruising through the minors but his projections are still kinda meh. Do you see him continuing his success or see him dive bombing fast? Kiley McDaniel Talked about him in last week's chat. Stuff randomly ticked up and he's a guy now. You'll see him higher on lists this offseason (and sooner from me, when I update the lists). via · 3 minutes ago
  13. Comment From Alex Heard anything about Clinton Hollon's start back from TJ? Kiley McDaniel Per FG prospects writer Chris King he was 91-93 t95 in his first extended spring start off TJ 3 minutes ago
  14. Comment From Not the guy from the comment section Any comps for Anthony Alford? What kind of tools does he have? 70 speed, 55 hit, 45 power with 60 raw? Kiley McDaniel 70 run, 55 raw. Upside is enormous and this is his first year fulltime playing baseball http://www.fangraphs.com/bl... less than a minute ago
  15. Kiley McDaniel Once I get some time (should be next few days), I'll write up Hoffman and Alex Reyes. Hoffman was 93-97 last night, curveball flashed the same as it was before TJ and he threw the changeup a lot more often. TOR has made his delivery less aggressive, more upright and more crossfire and he throws a slower curve most of the time, saving the best one for when he needs it. He's also pitching to contact to limit pitch count and using his third best pitch (CH) more, which explains the lower than expected K rate. I'll elaborate more, but this is more wait and see than good or bad. More important to see if TOR lets Hoffman loose next year
  16. kiley mcdaniel was at the game last night to watch hoffman. i'm looking forward to his post about the start he tweeted that he was sitting 94-96 with easy smooth delivery
  17. Castro hasn't pitched since May 29 Was was the est time missed for him?
  18. Is the season a marathon or a sprint? Rest now = fresher players in August/September
  19. did you see the O's defensive alignment? 1b and 3b were both 5ft inside their base and short stop was on the base line almost moving toward 3rd base as the pitch was delivered. sacrifice wouldn't work, and could have resulted in a DP.
  20. Looks like a few under slot signings. Who r they targeting to use the savings on?
  21. U can't throw out your s*** and hope to catch anything of value.
  22. In the course of the season it evens out. Look at Larussa's career. Did he all of a sudden learn how to manage or did the NYY start spending and build super rosters with dynamic bullpens? Managers may effect a game or two over a season but they don't pitch, they don't hit and they don't catch the ball
