  1. That, but also because sometimes this guy looks like he has incredible trouble breathing on the mound; and you thought Melky running to the wall last night going for that ball was bad? Colon is like x10 worse than that fielding the ball. But with all of that said, he's somehow managed to pitch his ass off at 40 years old putting up really solid numbers. In the past two seasons, Colon has pitched to a 4.4WAR; FIP (3.82;3.33); xFIP (4.17;3.90). ('12 season; '13 season). Romero = 0.1WAR; Morrow = 2.3WAR; Buehrle = 2.6WAR; Johnson = 4.1WAR; Dickey = 5.2WAR. Keeping in mind Colon missed 50 games during this time due to a suspension. And he's getting paid $3MM this year! even more incredible seems like he's doing while only having two pitches! i swear from what i've seen, he's only used two pitches. only a 91-92MPH FB but it seems to dart outside to RHB. And another pitch that just sinks. amaizng just has really good command of it all.
  2. Sorry, I got a man-crush on Colon
  3. Colon perfect through three innings with four strikeouts. I hope more players get the surgery he did. Serve your eventual suspension, but the surgery will give you multiple seasons of good health and re-found youth. Props to the O's for picking him up again on the cheap. Looks like Beane has finally caught up with the times again
  4. Hey leaffie! glad to see you more active around here lately
  5. Say what you will about AA, but I trust him now building pens on the cheap. Don't wanna hear about Lincoln-snider...
  6. Yeah I was talking about Uehara. Confused me for a bit as well Delabar is another story. Jays also got a lot more in return with that deal now hiring weighted balls guy. Turned Janssen into an elite closer and Cecil into an absolute BEAST.
  7. amazing how good he still is considering his age
  8. Looked like something was up with lester's back
  9. Farrell is still going to bring Bailey out right? or has he already changed closers? 3-run game, still doable.
  10. s***... would have been a GIDP right there. LUCKY
  11. hahah yes! bases loaded none out!!!! LET'S DO THIS!!!!!!!!
  12. Ugh, at least two more week of melky like this?
  13. sweet. 2 on, no out 2-0 count. don't f*** it up
  14. I think Ortiz is pissed because he got a 90MPH meatball right down the pipe in a 2-1 count and fouled it off. Cecil slapped his glove knowing he got away with one there. Next pitch, Cecil struck him out. Man Cecil has been BEASTING this year!!! I often tempt myself into thinking what Cecil might look like now in thet rotation. Not really sure how'd he do now, but I'm kinda curious. But he's got such a good thing going on now...
  15. Are you f***ing kidding me?! -should be scored a single; error on melky for being crippled -i wanna see cecil's face during that hit. didn't seem pleased
  16. White Sox Ready To Sell; Won't Trade Sale Or Konerko We heard last week that the White Sox had begun to receive calls on their veteran players. Now, rival executives tell Jon Heyman of CBS Sports that the ChiSox are "open for business" and willing to discuss anyone on their roster with the exception of Chris Sale and Paul Konerko. That means that even John Danks, who just last year signed a five-year, $65MM extension with the Sox, could be had in the right deal. The team also has desirable trade chips like Alex Rios, Alexei Ramirez, Jesse Crain, Matt Lindstrom, Matt Thornton and Jake Peavy (though he's currently on the DL). Heyman also adds that Jeff Keppinger's name has already come up in conversations, despite the fact that he signed a three-year deal just this past offseason. Not surprisingly, one executive told Heyman that Adam Dunn will be difficult to move. Dunn is owed $15MM in 2014 and is hitting .194/.303/.460 this season. Another said that Peavy will be tough to find a match for as well. The White Sox will have a high asking price on their co-ace, but teams won't have much time to determine if he's truly healthy. Another executive told Heyman that the Mets could look at Ramirez as a potential long-term option at shortstop. While he's not hitting for power anymore, Ramirez is batting .280/.308/.345 with 18 stolen bases and outstanding defense, according to advanced metrics like UZR and DRS. He's owed $10MM in 2014 and has a $10MM club option for 2015 on his contract as well. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2013/06/white-sox-ready-to-sell-wont-trade-sale-or-konerko.html I assume Gordon Beckham can also be had. He's been disappointing ever since all the hype built up around him since drafted, but still a nice buy-low candidate. Heck, I wouldn't even mind Ramirez at 2B or Danks for next chunk of years.
