  1. AAA. My first reaction was the MLB bullpen, but I'm optimistic that Alex will put in some work on the bullpen, and they'll be able to stretch out Sanchez for the Bisons.
  2. I really wanted them to pursue Hochevar for the swingman role, kinda blows to see him sign for the same amount Estrada will be making. Of course, we don't know how much more it would have taken to pull him away from the Royals, but still...
  3. Yeah, ever since I saw the names that were non-tendered, I've been wondering if AA made a move tonight. The Donaldson thing wasn't reported until a day after he actually made the trade, so who knows, maybe he got something done and we've just yet to hear about it. It just seems like a strange move unless he was really confident about something happening.
  4. Saunders makes more sense than anything, out of the names that are actively mentioned on the market. After Saunders, I seriously preferred Dirks/Pillar over some of the other guys being mentioned (Melky, Aoki, etc) so with Dirks gone, I'm hoping they've got their eyes on some outside-the-box names that aren't being talked about.
  5. Thank god Bautista didn't win last year.
  6. I kinda wish Estrada was NT'd just so that number would spike up to "11M cleared", and it would have made me like the Lind dump a bit more, but eh, I can live with it.
  7. Yeah, I was almost expecting Mibelt to post something shortly after. Some of the troll-hunters that did detective work on the Jake Wesley dude pointed out a few days ago that he steals his s*** from this Mibelt dude, among several other independent "sources".
  8. This leaves three outfielders on the 40-man: Bautista, Pompey, Pillar
  9. Best tweet of the day: I think you misinterpreted that guys post.
  10. We know that, and we don't hate him as an option in that role, but 4.5M just seems pretty steep when Donaldson will be making the same amount in arb. They could do better for that money on the open market. I like your name, and this wouldn't surprise me a whole lot. I do prefer Markakis to Melky, but I kinda preferred Dirks to Markakis as well, hearing the kind of contract Markakis is expected to make.
  11. This is the best conclusion I can come up for this as well.
  12. Yeah posted this in the wrong thread, this guys a meh source right? He's broken some stuff earlier as well, hasn't he?
  13. Here's a follow up tweet to that little s***'s earlier tweet about the Dodgers working on something: If anyone was to take on Hamels, it would be the Dodgers though.
  14. This is my assumption as well. Dirks and Mayberry gone really makes it look like they're confident about getting someone in left field. They've already said they want Pillar/Pompey competing for CF, so unless I'm missing someone, that leaves nobody for left field on the current MLB roster. May be some truth to the Fowler/Markakis rumors perhaps? Who knows with AA.
  15. If Dirks and Mayberry are gone, does that mean they've got a good feeling on a outside left fielder? Was still hoping for Dirks on the bench...
  16. Didn't expect Dirks and Smoak to be non-tendered, and was hoping that Estrada was. Maybe this means they've got something in the works for LF and 1B, as they've no longer got anyone on the MLB roster right now that fits into either of those spots.
  17. LOL WHAT? Why Dirks?!
  18. For all intents and purposes, this guy's a ******** source, but he does steal his info from other people, and it does occasionally turn out to be legit, so maybe something to keep an ear perked up about.
  19. Oh wow, Braves non-tendered Medlen. Drop Estrada and sign him.
  20. I'd be happy if they non-tendered Estrada. You can get a better RP at a cheaper AAV than what Estrada's going to make, on the open market.
  21. I think he has one of the worst contracts in baseball as well, which is why I know there's no chance the Jays would ever go for a player with that much of an anchor attached. My point was simply that if you are looking at those massive burdensome contracts for whatever reason, Votto makes more sense than Kemp.
  22. Not totally relevant to the AA interview itself, but Kevin Barker was on Sportsnet earlier, and although I think he's a bit of a tard, I really like what he said about turf. Says he played in Toronto for a bit and he feels like people exaggerate the effects of the turf. Said that major leaguers are treated to the best trainers, best food, best conditioning, and the bottom line is that if someone isn't coming to Toronto, it's not because of the turf, it's because of the money. Interview here. You're right, my mistake. The signing before the Marlins deal was Izturis.
  23. I'm secretly always begging for this to happen. You virtually cannot make a bigger DH acquisition. Unfortunately, the money, and more unfortunately than that, they'll probably play him in the field. If the Dodgers eat the majority of his salary, you absolutely look into it. If not, and you're ready to absorb a contract that size, you absolutely have to pursue the possibility of Votto first.
  24. He also said it's in a great spot right now. Don't let this get carried out of hand, we shouldn't be assuming that the Jays are gonna go and spend 50M 2015 dollars on free agents now. I fully expect them to be "creative" with payroll as they always say they will be.
  25. I feel like it'll be somewhat like 2012; free agent signing early in the offseason (Melky/Martin), huge trade as winter meetings approach (Marlins/Donaldson), silent winter meetings (he's always said he hates the winter meetings) and a significant move afterwards (Dickey/?)
