  1. I was going to give Benson a shout out tonight but I ran a search for him in this thread and saw that the last time he was brought up, someone mentioned his low velocity. He definitely has the best xFIP in the entire Blue Jays system.
  2. My Top 10 Blue Jays prospects (excluding 2022 draftees), in order, generally, of how painful it would be for me for each of them to be traded. 1) Ricky Tiedemann 2) Gabriel Moreno 3) Nick Frasso 4) Gabriel Martinez 5) Yosver Zulueta 6) Orelvis Martinez 7) Addison Barger 8) Dahian Santos 9) Damiano Palmegiani 10) Spencer Horwitz Yes, yes, I know. It's the worst list you've ever seen. Don't @ me.

  4. BA confirms Gage Stanifer signed for $125K. Like I said, it doesn't always happen but guys can still sign after the big signing batch press release!
  5. Average pitches per reliever by team:
  6. If the Angels are truly looking for "your top 4 prospects," then they'd definitely accept that offer. The Jays top 4 is better than the wide majority of farm systems. It's not like the Orioles are going to come knocking with Gunnar and Grayson for 1.5 years of Ohtani.
  7. Would you trade Moreno, Tiedemann, Groshans and Martinez for Ohtani?
  8. Step 1: Trade the entire farm system for Juan Soto. Step 2: Extend Soto for 500M. Step 3: Extend Vlad for 400M Step 4: Sign Turner for 300M. Step 5: Extend Bichette for 200M and move him to 2B. Step 6: ...Profit?
  9. Are you sure Drabek didn't peak higher than that? I thought he was a Top 5-ish guy for a bit.
  10. Trade Deadline Prediction Game: https://forms.gle/itsudMKVW44Ztv9r9 (put your forum name in the field that asks for the Discord profile name)
  11. I built a little quiz for the baseball Discord community I'm a part of where people can make their guesses on whether some prominent players will be traded or not, and where some of them will go. It's just a fun little game for bragging rights that we're doing. Once the trade deadline passes, I'll tally up the points and announce the winner. So I decided to drop the link here as well in case anyone wants to play. Obviously, anyone who joins from here will be in their own group and people here will only be competing against other BJMB posters. Here's the link to the Google form: https://forms.gle/itsudMKVW44Ztv9r9 Please put your forum username in the first field (where it asks for the Discord profile name). Troll names/entries are fine but they won't be counted. *Since Benintendi has already been traded, that question won't count.
  12. Yup, I haven't updated the OP yet but that's pretty much every last dollar the Jays had.
  13. It doesn't necessarily mean Pace isn't signing, they always release a bunch of signings in a big batch once a year and they have made signings afterwards a few times. That said, it's probably true in this instance since they managed to sign Perry. They must have used everything they had left to get him.
  14. Alright, I've fixed up all the numbers in the OP. The Jays have $74,605 left overslot. In other words, they can still give one of the Round 11-20 guys a $200,000 signing bonus ($125,000 allowance + ~$72-75K overslot + $2,500 contingency bonus). Obviously, it would be incredible if that were somehow enough for Greg Pace but if not, hopefully they're able to grab one of the other guys.
  15. That's hella weird. That's the same link I got my numbers from. They must have updated it. Never seen them do that before. Any articles that covered the slot values last week have the same numbers I do: https://www.sportingnews.com/ca/mlb/news/mlb-draft-slot-values-money-2022/ocmzq7kl6b204bgaa2aix6oa https://www.nbcsports.com/washington/nationals/mlb-draft-2022-explaining-signing-bonuses-slot-value-and-more
  16. Not sure if you guys have your numbers off or I do, but I'm getting $69,985 in the tracker. Also, it should be noted that these numbers are never going to be precise down to the dollar, and the reason Baseball America and MLB.com can report numbers that are off by a small fraction is because of this little-known rule: So if you're ever wondering why almost every single Blue Jays draft signing is exactly $2,500 off from a nice round number, it's because of this. They can give each player $2,500 as a contingency bonus and save that against their slot. So if one of these reporters is getting the bonus info from a player-side source, they might tell you the full amount, whereas if the source is team-side, you'll get the technically correct amount. In other words, Brandon Barriera, his family and his agent will tell you he signed for $3,600,000, because that's the number he receives. The Blue Jays-side sources will tell you he signed for $3,597,500. So for all we know, Tucker Toman's draft cap hit is $1,997,500 but the info we received on him says flat 2 million. Impossible to know exactly what the number is and exactly how much money the Jays have left to spend. Rarely matters though because it's not often you see the team spend up to their 5% overage cap down to the exact dollar.
  17. I used to use their tracker but a few of their numbers are sometimes off by small amounts and it triggers my OCD, lol. I'll fill in the blanks using their data for now though.
  18. Holy s***, yes it is! I forgot his name. Never would have imagined that he would end up on the Blue Jays. I'm a lot more stoked about this pick up now, lol. https://www.bluejaysmessageboard.com/threads/9758-2022-MLB-Draft-Discussion-Thread?p=1602030&viewfull=1#post1602030
  19. Wait... Divsion 3... Is McCarty the guy I posted a tweet about in one of the draft threads a few months ago?
  20. I could be wrong but McCarty getting 120K means the Jays used 100K out of their slot on an UFA. The limit for those guys I think is only 20K. Also, why was a guy worth 120K playing in D3?
