I keep telling people on here to sign up to MLB.com's email list, they regularly send out MLB.TV promotions. I got it a few weeks ago for 50% off at 24.99 thanks to an email promo. I'm sure you pride yourself on trolling and getting a reaction out of people, but if the person isn't reacting, at what point does it just become sad? Example 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. All you care about is "people like you". You're so hung up on the fact that this place was made two years ago to serve people like you that all you want from this site is for it to be a "boys club" chatroom. You don't care about this community growing or bringing in new people, and you've never given any indication that you respect the opinions of newer members. The only reason you even want new moderators is so that they can ban people you dislike, without banning your friends at the same time, like O2 did a few times. I don't agree with a lot of O2's decisions and how he went about things, but the way "people like you" have treated him is ridiculous. Juiced opened this thread with a comment that he's looking for mods that don't give in to the "mob mentality" which is exactly what you promote when you make pretentious statements like "this place was made for people like me".

I might have done the most "mod"-like thing by choosing to put you on ignore instead of giving in to your constant trolls and bait-attempts and devolving every thread into garbage. Instead of manning up and avoiding me yourself, the constant quote notifications I get from "Boxcar" tell me you've been begging for my attention ever since I blocked you. You want to talk about weird and unstable, talk to your friends who've been trying to cyber-stalk me by looking for my facebook (and failing) and creating reddit accounts to send me private messages. Like I said though, none of this will be an issue, because if people think I can't behave myself as a moderator, I have no problem working with the other mods behind the scenes and refraining from posting in the regular forum unless necessary. I want to see this place get better a lot more than you do.

I'd like to offer a write-in vote for Candy Maldonado, just so that the above is no longer true.

You don't want people to stop on each other's toes, but when you have that many voices and that many opinions, it's bound to happen. I think it's safe to assume that Hurl and O2 had to have had disagreements, just based on what we saw on the open board. Now imagine if there were five people on each side of those disagreements. It would be chaotic. The fact that you think 5-10 new mods is a good idea tells me that you're just not ready. Nice hair though.

5-10 new mods is a crazy number. You don't want to hold a summit every time you need the mods to agree on something. On top of that, the more mods you have, the higher the chance that someone goes on a power trip, the higher the chance that someone has an itchy trigger finger on bans, and the higher the chance that someone does something stupid like accidentally permabanning a user or permanently deleting a thread.

I'm going to volunteer. I've actually been pretty close to leaving this forum because of how bad its gotten recently, so it's nice to see that this is now a topic of conversation, and if I can help to make it better, I'd like to. I have some experience as a moderator, and despite the fact that I've been quite opinionated and confrontational as a regular poster, I wouldn't carry that same demeanor as a mod. With that said, I know I'll never be a popular choice and some people might revolt if you pick me. If the best way to work this out is for me to simply stop posting regularly and act as a behind-the-scenes moderator, I'm open to that. I don't really have any allegiances on this forum so you can trust that I'll look at every situation objectively, I've been around long enough to have a pretty good gauge on how people carry themselves, and I think I've made it pretty clear in the past that I want to see this place grow. Despite what some very vocal people here might think of me, I do feel confident that I'd be one of the better candidates. I also think this place needs more than one new moderator, so I'll nominate North and Deadpool primarily, as well as BTS, baubau, Abomination and KingKat.

All you need is moderator approval for new accounts, like what Orioles Hangout uses to shut us out of signing up there. Can you imagine if they didn't have that approval process? People from this forum would have burned that place down by now, and that function has saved them from a lot of our would-be troll posts. It allows new accounts to be screened, so that the people that do keep coming back have to at least be extremely creative with it.

The guy you quoted worded it poorly and the sample size is obviously not big at all, but yes, Colabello has been the best bat on the team outside of Donaldson.
