They did. Its been reported that the Devils offered 10+ million on a seven year deal. Has to be one of the strangest free agent signings ever. People seem to think he had his heart set on going to Philly, but they have no cap space, on account of Chuck Fletcher being the worst GM in the league.

LOL. Plus, from what we've heard out Stroman, Atkins, and now this I don't even think its that hard to translate. "Stroman thinks he is the second coming of Pedro Martinez. He has been traded to the Mets to be there 3 or 4 starter. If that isn't a reality check for him nothing will be." -
So as far as prospects go, Simeon Woods Richardson has some serious fap potential. But what's the word on Anthony Kay, could he be with the Jays at some point this year?

I don't know, at least they the NHL doesn't allow for the removal of Hall eligibility after one year of eligibility.

So I don't usually visit the Orioles Hangout but when I do I check out the The 2019 records of infamy thread. Personal favourite. "The Orioles have allowed 5+ home runs in 7 games, the most in a season in the history of the American League. They've played 49 games."

Do the Reds receive revenue sharing? Maybe they should put a Yankees logo on there batting helmets.

I'd also add automatic free agency after a players age 28 season. Right now the system is especially shafting late bloomers. With this change teams still get there control, but the player still hits free agency with 3 or 4 prime years left.

I think MLSE/Rogers will allow rebuild's. But only if all other attempts at building a successful team fail. The Leafs had to waste a year to show that a rebuild had to be done. The Jays tried to remain competitive for the last two years and failed, and now appear to be fully embracing a rebuild/tank. The Raptors outlook for 2019/20 will probably mirror the Blue Jays of 2017/18, trying to build for the future while also trying to make the playoffs. Nothing drastic is going to happen in Raptor land without them even having missed the playoffs once.

Doesn't Marleau have a no-trade? If he retired they could maybe move his contract then, otherwise I think they are stuck with him.
