  1. Yay! AA didn't trade for a rental. Now let's hope he does the same with every other rental.
  2. Aha! So you said it! Jokes aside, meh, don't care about Hoffman's result this year that much really. I may be in the minority. As you said just coming back off of TJ. All I care about right now is the Velo which has been there from the reports I read. Everything will come back slowly/gradually. My fear is this team makes him into a Sanchez 2.0 as that report from fangraphs does have me worried, especially with this Jays franchise, and if they rush him too quickly.
  3. Ideally. The reason being while EE has had a down year in terms of wRC+, WAR and higher strikeouts he is still producing offensively. Likely going to end the year at 25-30 HR and 80-100 RBI. If you take that production away, you still have the top to top 3 offense in baseball while improving the teams pitching now and heading forward. Not to mention you clear up any contract concerns after next year. Trading EE to me makes sense. If he allows it or if it happens is another story.
  4. I am curious, what else does he do well?
  5. Honestly, I think he could fetch more than we may expect. His bat is just below league average (92 wRC+), doesn't walk a lot (4.2% BB) but doesn't strike out a lot either (15.1% K). His defense and base running are stellar. He is in a "breakout" year, already providing 2.2 WAR over 97 games and is still young at 26 years old. I have shifted my views of him from a 4th OF to a everyday OF you can put anywhere. That is pretty much gold for teams like Indians, O's Mariners and maybe the Tigers. I don't think he'd fetch a top end ace but something around Gausman or Paxton could potentially be done. I don't think the Jays want to go that route however. With Saunders and Bautista's future in the OF in question and no real immediate solution for a replacement outside of Pompey/Alfrod, whom may never make it, think the Jays would rather keep him.
  6. Then the Jays should be Eldarado. EE for Quintana/Carrasco. Get er done AA!
  7. Anyone think this Hutch being "sick" is just keeping him out of games in case of a trade?
  8. Sanchez is something that is trending towards nothing. Isn't quite there yet.
  9. I hope AA can get it done. I know during the trade for Donaldson Billy/AA mentioned that they had long discussions and nothing was really done till AA added Lawrie. Might be the case with Carrasco right now as well. Could be they want someone like Pillar to get the deal done, someone who is already in the ML roster and not a prospect like Pompey/Alfrod which is what AA could be alternatively offering. Will be interesting to see what goes down if anything.
  10. Hey, thanks for stopping by and giving input. There is always speculation on our end on what other teams want but its always great having the other side's perspective. Pompey + Alford may be a little deep on our end. Not because I wouldn't do it, but because outside of Pillar this team really doesn't have a future plan in the OF. Saunder's future is questionable and Bautista may move to DH/1st B in the near future. While neither Pompey or Alfrod are guaranteed to succeed in the ML, I would imagine the team still needs depth. Otherwise we'll continue to have scrubs like Colabello and Carrera out there which has cost the team games. I would put in Tellez or Pentacoast (not sure how high he might be with all of his injuries and setbacks) if the Tribe would be at all interested instead of Alfrod. I am a little surprised to hear that the Indians wouldn't want another Hutch. With Kluber, Bauer and Salazr leading the way I'd figure Hutch would go well on the 4/5th role and thrive on it that you can trade the other pieces but that is far. Shows how much I may know.
  11. Ceiling =/= results. Team don't value the "what if" when giving up a player like Carrasco. Imagine it this way, you where going to trades in shares of a stock to diversify your positions. Your stock is worth $1,000 and you were offered 4 different stocks each worth $250 for it. Imagine instead I said I'd take away one of those stocks and give you one worth $50 that could reach $250. Would you take the risk? The "potential" is there but do you want to sit on for years before it gets to where the other one already was? For the peeps that trade here, if any, yes I know this isn't know the stock market works but giving a example. You're weak, weak TL! Just get the other GM drunk and try to slip Sanchez by them instead.
  12. What? How is a Hutch = SRF? You'd be subbing in Norris/Hoffman + instead.
  13. So a no. 3 starter (Hutch), bullpen guy (Castro), starter/bullpen (Boyd) and a 4th OF or better (Alford). Yes. I would that easily. The fact that the Jays keep Pompey, Norris, Osuna and Hoffman still leaves them with decent depth. Carrasco is under control till 2020 at a team friendly contract. The value he provides will likely outweigh the 4 given. If we could sub in Sanchez instead of Boyd or Alford, that would be a lot more gravy. E: ^ what they said as well.
  14. Carassco. The end.
  15. With all the noise going on, I will be disappointed if the Jays do nothing. With that being said, I also hope they don't do anything stupid.
  16. http://hardballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/11/29/blue-jays-prospect-anthony-alford-arrested-after-incident-with-gun-on-campus/ Very "mature". I am not going to sit here and judge someone on a situation, despite the article I posted, as you, I nor likely anyone else on this forum really know the players. To judge someone from a distance and articles out of context of the situation is asinine. You clearly have your own bias.
  17. Its raining bitches. E: ^ DAMN YOU EDWINSPARROT! *shakes fist*
  18. Me: "Why are you watching a man f*** a goat in the butt?" http://media.giphy.com/media/TmUw8dUQkaDXG/giphy.gif
  19. It still surprises me that teams don't challenge Bau's arm. I mean, I guess you don't want to risk it when you can tie the game with a flyout but still surprising.
  20. Already being discussed in the deadline thread bro. You're late. I imagine Indians asking for Stroman as the main piece and add our top end prospects on top.
  21. I wouldn't call it hating, at least not from my end, but more willingness to part with him as we will likely and ideally get something better in the long term in assets and move the money the team would invest in him to other players, be it our own or in the FA market. EE shouldn't be traded for the sake of making a trade.
  22. Why? Smoak has been fine vs LHP away. Even if not, he is a superior defender to Belo. Plus, like it just happened, the pitcher will be likely pulled and you'll likely face a RHP. No manager would ideally throw more LHP against this lineup.
