But no seriously, I doubt the Dodgers would make the financial commitment when they have Seager and Olivera with a focus to likely resign Kendricks. I mean, could it? Sure. If the Rockies ate a ton of salary but I don't Friedman would take on that commitment with what he has available in the wings. -
With all the doubts of Toronto being able to move Reyes, why do people assume Colorado is going to be able to easily flip him? Do they have millions that they can eat that I am unaware of?

This trade can easily blow up on the Jays. By no means is it a home run yet. Tulo very well could be just as bad as Reyes heading forward so the team could have made a lateral move while giving up assets and paying more for a player. With that being said, I would do the trade taking the chance on Tulo. Hoffman, while great, has me concerned on his delivery. While I don't know why the Jays tried to "Sanchez" his delivery, but the fact that they didn't do that with Osuna after his makes me wonder if the Jays worry his old delivery will lead to more TJs.

I think trading EE makes even more sense because it opens up the DH position to rotate Bautista and Tulo. I would be surprised if EE isn't traded for a pitcher now. But I've been surprised that Navarro is still on this team soo...

Confims what I also suspected for a while, Jeff Blair doesn't know s***. Said that the Jays ranked Hoffman above Norris and Boyd. They'd be the ones shoped and traded first. #fullofshit

If we go after a OF UFA, I hope its Gordon. Even then, I doubt this team will as they'll likely have Pompey fill in the spot. They have 4 OF next year: Pompey, Saunders, Pillar, Bautista and will likely just pickup Carrera or a Carrera like player for depth.

Exactly. If it was the Dodgers that we were talking about they'd probably hang up the phone on Walker/Paxton for Eddy. But with Jack Z we could probably even try to sneak in Reyes for Miller lol.

Yep, I'd agree. Jays are probably around top 10 in the league in terms of prospects. I'd rank top 5 systems as "stacked" and they currently would be Boston, Dodgers, Twins, Cubs and Pirates. But schematics as I agree with TL lol.

For me, if you are a team with a rental player and have no intentions/hope of extending him, getting anything back is a plus. I would hope AA is a seller as this team isn't going to make it or make it far into the playoffs and ship out the Papa Buly but I doubt it.

Not sure if you're agreeing with me, or being sarcastic. ...but in case of sarcasm, I am down trade players on this team for controllable pitching like Quintana, Fires, Ross, etc. but for a team that is barely above .500 more than half the season through, there is no reason to waste assets (despite their future outcome) on a player that may or may not help the team and eventually likely leave in the offseason for $$$, something this team has never really has a history of anteing up with AA/Beast.
