What, no he isn't. He's told guys to take home when he should have held them at 3rd. I can't recall the specific games but know it happened enough times last year and did cost the Jays a game. I remember making jokes that he was a - 1 WAR (don't judge me) bench coach because of this.

And dumb. This team should probably rest their injured players early (Reyes, Bautista) then risk them having a worse injury as a result down the road which could hurt a lot more. I'd be happy with Bau out 2-4 weeks in the first month than 2-3 months down the road. This Navarro situation is also hilarious. The Jays hold onto him thinking he will be valuable once someone else's catcher goes down and here he is himself hurt.

Oh don't get me wrong, I think the Jays made a excellent trade. I am just saying it isn't a "fleece" by any means yet. I also am looking at Gose's numbers and damn, 0% BB with a .571 BABIP. He's going to crash hard soon.

I don't know if I would call it a fleece just yet as Gose has been amazing for the Tigers so far as well. I think it will be a win-win for both teams. Jays and Tigers traded a player in a position of strength/depth for a player in a position of weakness. I would say the Jays were lucky that Isturiz got injured. Travis would have likely been sent down was it not for his injury.
