Didn't Pete help a few pitchers find new pitches last season and worked with Norris and Sanchez to develop pitches this season? I really don't follow the pitching/coaching aspect of MLB and their minor league teams to know whom has a good rep or not.

I guess the one positive from tonight's game is that this might force Gibby/AA to be more desperate and move Sanchez to the pen and Estrata to the rotation.

No worries! I can't recall many mistakes Smoak has made at 1st. Think there was a ball that got underneath his glove in the Orioles series on the 9th. Can't recall 100% but that is the only hiccup I can remember on his part. Sure they do. Yes he has. We'll just have to agree to disagree on this end bud. We'll just have to see how things go.

It was a bad throw by Travis as he was pretty much taken out at 2nd. Not many, if at all any, 1st basemen could catch that. Besides, what looks more appealing on the lineup to you, Player A: .200 BA, 35 wRC+, .250 OBP, 8.3% BB Player B: .222 BA, 90 wRC+, .364 OBP, 18.2% BB (SSS for both players right now I know, but one is clearly better..)

I agree. I thought Gibby was just trying to up Navarro's value when he said he was the best pure hitter. Now I think he actually believes it. I usually defend Gibby but this one I don't think anyone could or should defend him on. Saunders DH while Pillar is still in LF?

How do you fracture your rib on a check swing? Guh, this team. First sprinklers, then sneezes now check swings. We can't even bubble wrap them to keep them healthy. E: Oh and bunt drills as well. God dammit. -
Pretty much this. If your 2-5 go 1-9 then you have issue. This has been too much of a hot/cold lineup, very inconsistent. They are extremely lucky one game, terribly unlucky the second. I am still upset at Gibbons subbing in Navarro for Smoak. Worrying that it will be a constant throughout the year. f*** AA just dump him for a all you can eat greek coupon already.

Gibby needs to tell Goins not to swing at anything while he's at the plate. He might actually increase his OBP (not joking here).
