I'm not bullshitting, i could count on 1 hand the number of times he was allowed to hit when he had runners on base. Obviously he's not Melky but you can't point to stats all the time when the guy is barely getting the green light to hit. So far it's either bases are empty so they let him try to work on his swing or you have runners and they tell him to move them over.

Yesterday was the first time i can recall he had RISP with 2 outs and wasn't asked to sacrifice himself.

For a guy that is being asked to sacrifice himself pretty much on every other play after being something like 1 for his first 30, you look too much into the stats.

Pretty much any catcher that can hit well or had an injury done that. Thing is, you need to prove he's worth keeping at 1B, there are enough players who can play and can't field. One theory might be that he will improve his hitting by not catching but that's a big gamble, most people don't think it will change much if at all.

Think about it this way, any idea how much a life insurance cost? The cost is usually determined by the amount of coverage and the period of time. To cover 1 million the insurance company needs to get something close to that number throughout the contract otherwise it doesn't make sense to them or there needs to be enough clauses inside to limit their risk to only certain situations. I could totally see how a contract can end up almost costing double for figures this high.

It's more about the 20 vs 2 which makes Gruber defend him harder. Obsession? I'm more into cheering people and hope they succeed, pretty much everyone against Goins want him to fail. Now the next guy will come and say they only want him to fail so the FO will bring someone else who is better than replacement level... Where i want him to prove that he is above replacement level.
