  1. I just thought of a good comparable to this situation. In CFL, when a player wants to tryout for the NFL, they always let them go even though they are under contract.
  2. No wonder Boras closed the deal so quickly, it's an insane deal.
  3. So, 7 years 210M while they get to pay it over 14 years period, nice.
  4. Better than the flapping humor, that's for sure.
  5. I'm not paying that even if it was for Billiy Beane and Joe Madden.
  6. I honestly don't see how getting Shields is a good idea, he's not what he used to be. Sure, he can still eat a lot of quality innings but you all saw him in the playoffs, he wasn't effective anymore and chances are, he's on decline. It's like paying Dickey 20M per to pitch fast balls, it ain't going to work for more than maybe a year.
  7. I wonder what we offered Donaldson.
  8. Orioles = birdland on O's forum.
  9. I still believe in Goins, he's raw with his bat but it's all there, just gotta tap into the right places. I have more confidence in Goins finding his bat than Gose finding his bat, luckily Gose isn't our problem anymore.
  10. It seems like the compensation cannot be any major league players which means we can't give them anyone who is on the 40 man roster. Currently players like: Sanchez, Norris, Pompey and Stroman are on the 40 list among all the other major leaguers so they can forget about getting any of our top prospects.

  12. I'm pretty sure i've read before that MLB has the final word on pretty much everything to do with MLB teams.
  13. Length of contract is meaningless because DD doesn't want to stay there. If DD stays for 4 more years, Angelos is hurting DD and O's, no one else. Owner had no problem with him going, probably because he knew Theo didn't want to stay when he has the chance to get a promotion.
  14. Welcome aboard. What O's fans don't understand is that there was 1 precedent and this was the compensation: http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=8556&position=P The other thing O's fans miss out on, Blue Jays are in no position to force things, Beeston stays until they find someone else, if it's not now then next year, no big deal. On the other hand, Angelos is in a big jam because his GM doesn't want to work for him but wants to work for his divisional rival, on top of that, it's the middle of the off-season and he has no one to prepare the team.
  15. http://www.cbs6albany.com/sports/features/sports/stories/jeff-hoffman-trade-rumors-2748.shtml They think they are going to get Hoffman. Maybe they meant Huffman and got the spelling wrong.
  16. One guy on their forum said they are getting Sanchez and Pompey and then people used him as a source for the next 20 pages to claim they are getting top prospects in return.
  17. We can ship him to the O's as compensation for DD.
  18. So i guess Jonathan Diaz is too much of a price to pay, haha.
  19. Now they think they're getting Sanchez AND Pompey.
  20. According to O's forum. Some O's radio station is reporting the O's are asking for Dalton Pompey. It does make sense that they want him, they value every day hitters way more than pitchers. I remember a few years ago Buck (O's Buck) saying that's why they drafted Manny Machado.
  21. That price is probably a lot closer to the truth than Stroman.
  22. We've seen in 2013, your pen can carry you only so much before it breaks down. If they are overloaded cause their starters aren't pitching deep, it's only a matter of time before they melt down.
