Who cares about tampering, gonna take years and they will settle on a bit of money. Bit of money is better than giving up Hoffman.

CEO's are definitely not a dime a dozen and do require special talent. Having said that, doesn't make sense to give anything of value for DD.

If it's anything more than a D level prospect then forget about it. O's had 3 good seasons under him but why would he do a good job at a job that is mostly about business and not baseball? I'm sure there are plenty of options that are not called Beeston.

If they do that, it wouldn't be a promotion anymore. Then they would actually be entitled for a real compensation.

They say Ed Rogers, son of late Ted Rogers and chairman of the board for the Blue Jays among other things. He's Beeston's boss. One rumor is that he's trying to make a name for himself which might mean going all out cowboy trying to get what he wants.

I understand that he has a contract, but there is an unwritten rule that you let people go without compensation (in sports) for a promotion. PA refuses. Having said that, if indeed Ed Rogers is going behind the back of everyone stirring things up, that's not cool.
