18 position players on the bench, geez.
Gibby: Son, what's your name?
Nay: Mitch Nay!
Gibby: Have i seen you before?
Nay: I hit a homer yesterday.
Gibby: Are you sure?
Nay: Can i play again?
Gibby: Son, what's your name again?
For sure, but usually you hear on players giving their name or becoming ambassadors of some kind. Board of directors is usually for business folks or shareholders (which he may be)
It makes total sense don't get me wrong, but it's surprising how many ventures he throws his hat to while still playing at his prime.
Not that, the fact he's on the board of directors of a bat company.
Ask any of the other position players if they are in the board of directors of a bat company, i would imagine they say no, but i could be wrong.
They are saying the injury came before and just none checked him. So it's possible Blue Jays did check him and passed after they saw the injury while Rays didn't check on him and therefore signed him.
Ronald Belisario injured himself trying to climb out of a pool, apparently it happened before he signed with the Rays, could be why the deal fell through with the Jays.
I'm surprised we signed him, which means we gave him a decent contract.
It makes sense though, if he gets to a situation where he's in the big leagues, then the salary is really cheap, if he doesn't, then he gets almost nothing.
