Meh, I don't really think Yimi Garcia has been a problem or necessarily the reason why they lost today. First of all, no reason Manoah couldn't have been left to face 7-8-9. With Yimi, he gave up a 99 mph EV with an xBA of .310, unfortunately it was in Yankee f***ing Stadium and it of course cleared the stupid short porch. Garcia had a 3.37 xERA coming into this game, so it's not like he's being rocked, and he had been getting swings and misses. Not sure why we felt the need to put him into a tie game on back-to-back appearances when the guy you chose as the Opening Day starter was cruising through the Yankees lineup and facing the bottom part with a good pitch count.
Yimi Garcia should be fine, he won't give up a homerun on one out of every three flyballs he induces all year. But the bullpen needs to stop being taxed like this when the starters are finally performing and not showing any signs of faltering.
