  1. He swings at every pitch anyways, might as well see if we avoided the groundball DP.
  2. Can't complain too much about this AB, will be a guaranteed 10 pitches. Just don't GIDP pls.
  3. And you know this how? Josh Reddick is a very good player at the MLB level, Pompey has not proven to be as such.
  4. Let's just pretend the Red Sox hit back to back sac flies, maybe it will help in hating Dickey less.
  5. Not sure how I showed any signs of being tense or upset with that post...I'm quite relaxed.
  6. His pitches are moving a lot and he's commanding them, the hitters are just getting fooled.
  7. I think I just witnessed Dickey have a 1-2-3 inning against the Red Sox. I knew that drink tasted funny...
  8. Adam Lind with some OF defense would be a godsend to this team. He's been a 2 WAR player since 2011. Reddick is also young and is controllable IIRC.
  9. Actually, Cain is 3rd in WAR for American League outfielders, he does deserve to be there. He plays elite defense, is a great baserunner, as has been a good hitter (120 wRC+).
  10. Bautista is tied at 4th in WAR for AL outfielders. He absolutely deserves to be there. He's second only to Trout (since Cruz is voted in as a DH) in wRC+, Bautista has been an elite player this year.
  11. I thought it was known that the last round of BP is usually just a HR Derby? Also, BP usually goes by pretty quickly, unless you're specifically working on a certain aspect (driving the ball the other way for example), sure the goal isn't necessarily to hit a bunch of homers but I'm sure it happens all the time. From what I've heard Giancarlo Stanton puts on a show at batting practice.
  12. I think it's been discussed ad nauseam that taking a few swings extra in what is simply a televised batting practice has no real implication on the player's health.
  13. The second basemen leaderboard should tell you all you need to know about this year's voting process.
  14. I don't see all of Sanchez, Osuna and Norris being on the team if we trade for both Hamels and Papelbon, especially with Amaro's asking prices.
  15. Gross, the Astros' manager just called Jose Altuve to bunt with Correa already in scoring position and no outs.
  16. We're about middle of the pack by ERA and FIP, 7th by xFIP, they get lots of strikeouts (3rd in the majors in K/9) and don't give up a lot of walks (8th in BB/9). I think sometimes the criticism is warranted when a guy goes wild and it hurts us, but a lot of times they give up leads as a result of pitching a lot of innings due to our legitimately lackluster starting rotation. Bullpens are usually very volatile, so for the pieces that we've built ours with I'm not discontent.
  17. I've never claimed that I'm better than anyone. Just like you and the rest of the people here I'm watching the same game and seeing our relievers get strikeouts, not allowing a lot of hard contact, yet being called out because a few singles found holes and certain plays weren't executed by the defense. It's true that at times I will call people out because it infuriates me to see the same narrative over and over when our players aren't doing anything wrong.
