  1. Not to rain on your parade, but it's still far too early to say that Bautista is "back". Spring Training shouldn't be enough to change your opinion, though I would say it was a smart signing regardless, even if he bombs ST (as long as he remains healthy).
  2. Need to get on base first if he wants to steal!
  3. I don't know man, makes plenty of sense to me. I think anyone here would prefer opposite field groundball slap singles as opposed to boring homers where he can't even utilize his speed.
  4. I don't think we needed a poor ST appearance to know that.
  5. Only one of these things will be back to good shape in a week.
  6. I think he means #2 on the list which includes Top-100 rankings and #3 on the list which is purely stats.
  7. Lowry always goes down when we need him the most lol. He was terrible in last year's playoffs because he had an elbow injury and his shooting was terrible for most games.
  8. It's one game in Spring Training...Jesus Christ.
  9. If only grass smelled half as good as cake.
  10. Isaiah Thomas is getting every call.
  11. Do we really need him? I don't see him being much better than Cory Joseph.
  12. It's not just about that, it's a pretty scary place to have a hundred million dollar baseball team play. I think hitters would prefer not to have to fear for their life rather than get dem dingers.
  13. I'd say it's Aaron Nola over Sonny Gray, but still that's a pretty bad offer.
  14. Pretty sure he had this tattoo last year did he not?
  15. The thing is that in basketball one player can make a much more significant impact than in baseball. Consider that the elite players have the ball in their hands over a third of the time, while playing close to 40 minutes a night. They are directly responsible for a team winning a game whereas Mike Trout will be involved in maybe 4 or 5 game changing moments over the course of a game if he's lucky. That's the reason why when people talk about LeBron's teams they mention his impact specifically, because him being on the court can be the reason for a team making the playoffs, like what happened in his earlier Cleveland tenure when his supporting cast was mostly terrible.
  16. I think they gave literally everyone after 14 top prospects a 55 FV, which seems pretty lazy if they're going through the bother of ranking so many of them.
  17. Probably, or if not they're simply just projecting their hitting line based on their previous results, where a player's results are influenced by how they're platooned. For instance, Alvarez is a career 118 wRC+ vs RHP and 68 wRC+ vs LHP. Morales on the other hand is 117 vs RHP and 107 vs LHP, so you don't need to waste a roster spot on a platoon partner nor do you have to worry about taking him out of the game if a lefty specialist comes in.
  18. Not that it was a good signing necessarily, but I don't think Dave Cameron realizes that Morales is a switch hitter with pretty decent splits from both sides. I say this given that all of the comps are to platoon hitters who aren't as good.
  19. It's unlikely, he would need another three 5 WAR seasons or so to give him a strong chance. He'll end up as one of those really great but not quite HOF worthy players.
  20. Off topic, but man Curtis Granderson has had an exceptional career. I didn't even know that he was elite with the Tigers before being moved to the Yankees, as I did not follow baseball as passionately at the time. Now currently sitting at 43.9 WAR over 12 seasons, very impressive.
  21. I think scouts (lol) didn't like all the movement in his hands. It's clearly a swing designed to generate strong contact and scouts mistake that for being over agressive, long swing, all that garbage.
  22. I think when you're striking out guys at that rate, the command issues worry you less. Just look at Lance McCullers, who coincidentally is also another guy not far from TJS.
  23. At least 4 posters over the last page are being insincere.
  24. Bump. Can we pin this at the top? It's extremely useful.
