  1. We're not 5 minutes into the Opening Day broadcast and Rick Sutcliffe is already talking about pitcher winning percentage.
  2. I'll go with Rays, SF and Cubs. I think Archer can shut down the Yankees enough that TB's offense can back him up.
  3. Either they believe that Carrera has true reverse splits (Jesus f***ing Christ) or Pearce is getting the bulk of OF starts vs LHP. Then I guess they'll do some weird s*** of Morales at first and roving DHs (Martin, Salty, Jose, JD).
  4. I think if anything this signals that Pearce will be getting significant OF time.
  5. Also Goins is not a good outfielder at all. Goins is a poor man's Barney.
  6. Ugh, Goins is like a parasite. The team just won't let go of him.
  7. It's the thought that counts...Grilli is great.
  8. Liriano looks filthy. Let's hope his stuff and command continues onto the regular season.
  9. The MVP will very likely come down to Westbrook and Leonard. I'd give it to the latter myself but I think the voters will have a hard time not voting for the triple double average. I think he should take the guaranteed money.
  10. He's quite a poor defender overall, he's dabbled a bit at 3B and 2B and the SSS defensive stats are not feeling it.
  11. Lovely signing. I'd take him over Zeke and Goins right now, could platoon him with Upton as well. I'll eagerly await his call up.
  12. Because there's a 20 year difference between the two events and everything nowadays is catalogued on social media?
  13. Still, in this day and age every pitcher has at least one breaking ball, even if a below-average one. Everyone knows Smoak's weakness at making contact on those, so even if the pitcher was predominantly FB-CH they'd change up the gameplan for him.
  14. Obviously giving up 43 in the 4th is terrible and indicative of a lackluster defensive effort, but man the Hornets would not miss a shot.
  15. Lol Carroll.
  16. This is the most mobile I've seen JV in a while. Best defensive effort from the bigman in some time.
  17. I just turned on the game and wow do the Hornets ever look awful. Admittedly the Raps' defense has been solid but it's just bad shot after bad shot.
  18. I feel like you made this post specifically to lure me out.
  19. Damn I didn't realize how good Reed was last season. Lol @ the DBacks giving him away for nothing.
  20. I was just commenting on a legitimate Yahoo flaw.
  21. Yeah I was totally serious about the possibility of Juan Nicasio, Charlie Morton and Matt Boyd dueling it out for a no walks week. You guys really got me!
  22. Why not replace it with something sensible like K-BB then? Avoids undefined division and if someone gets a negative score they should just delete their team right there.
  23. Well obviously, but it's not impossible for a team to have an X:0 K/BB in one week, and to lose the matchup over it is egregious. At least take the dumb road and round the walks to 1 FFS. If someone has a 40:0 but loses to someone with 21:5 that's absurd.
  24. Yahoo is not even trying at this point.
