  1. Man, Yarbrough is a kitchen sink soft tosser who projects terribly and had a nice little stint with the team on the back of some extremely favourable batted ball luck. I promise we won’t miss him. He’s completely replaceable.
  2. Kirk with another bomb, oppo taco to RF-CF.
  3. It's only spring so it doesn't matter, but Guerrero has been putting up a very mediocre camp. Lots of singles, groundballs, hasn't been driving the ball in the air often, .140 ISO. Whatever, as long as he gets it together for the start of the regular season.
  4. Kirk has batted balls of 107.7 and 109.5 mph today. He's scorching the baseball in ST.
  5. Another nice play by Wagner coming in on a slow roller, bare handing the ball and throwing out the runner. He continues making a case for himself.
  6. Haven't they mostly been doing 5th and 6th?
  7. Safe the say Vlad is losing the PR battle badly.
  8. Another frustrating thing about Manoah roller coaster of a career, is that due to his early success and Cy Young votes, we've already lost 2 years of cheap control with most of 2025 being a third one. Now at Arb 1, Manoah will only have two more years of potentially not super cheap arbitration costs past 2025 before becoming a free agent. Ideally he finishes 2025 off strong and is again a legit option for a rotation option for next season with the departures of Bassitt and Scherzer freeing up two spots.
  9. Pop hasn't been replacement level (or above, naturally) since 2022. It's hard to think a literal replacement level reliever wouldn't be an upgrade. Nance, Josh Walker, Dillon Tate, Nick Robertson (who?) are all likely better or at the very least, not worse.
  10. The Orioles are doing it again. They've optioned Coby Mayo to AAA to begin the season. Instead of trading literally anyone away for upgrades, they just let their blocked guys rot in the minors and lose value. God forbid you sell high on Ryan O'Hearn, move Ryan Mountcastle for SP depth, or move Mayo for a top end SP.
  11. I have a feeling this was a typo and Bryan meant to say these are the only relievers projected to have an ERA under 3.85 to begin the season. Which is true except for the late inclusion of Lovelady on the 40-man and potentially the 26-man roster as well. Shoutout to Ryan Burr's projections too. # Name Team W L SV G GS IP K/9 BB/9 HR/9 BABIP LOB% GB% ERA FIP WAR 1 Jeff Hoffman TOR 4 2 27 65 0 65.0 11.03 3.01 0.86 .283 77.1% 2.98 3.11 1.4 2 Ryan Burr TOR 2 2 0 42 0 42.0 10.00 3.10 1.10 .292 76.1% 3.55 3.66 0.1 3 Yimi García TOR 4 3 3 61 0 61.0 9.86 2.83 1.12 .287 73.7% 3.60 3.71 0.5 4 Richard Lovelady TOR 5 4 0 55 0 55.0 8.03 2.63 0.95 .292 71.8% 3.76 3.79 0.1 5 Brendon Little TOR 3 2 0 50 0 50.0 7.76 4.01 0.81 .295 73.0% 3.86 4.10 0.0 6 Josh Walker TOR 2 1 0 35 0 35.0 9.05 3.72 1.06 .289 73.5% 3.91 4.02 0.0 7 Chad Green TOR 5 4 4 63 0 63.0 8.61 2.72 1.30 .282 73.2% 3.94 4.12 0.2 8 Nick Sandlin TOR 4 4 0 60 0 60.0 9.58 3.90 1.21 .281 73.5% 3.98 4.26 0.0 9 Erik Swanson TOR 2 2 0 39 0 39.0 8.85 3.12 1.27 .288 74.0% 4.00 4.15 0.0 10 Nick Robertson TOR 2 1 0 44 0 44.0 8.60 3.39 1.08 .292 72.4% 4.04 4.10 0.0 11 Mason Fluharty TOR 1 1 0 22 0 22.0 8.45 3.43 1.18 .287 72.6% 4.14 4.30 0.0 12 Tommy Nance TOR 3 3 0 59 0 59.0 8.01 3.21 1.13 .295 71.6% 4.16 4.26 0.0 13 Dillon Tate TOR 1 1 0 32 0 32.0 6.75 2.85 0.94 .293 69.2% 4.17 4.23 0.0 14 Zach Pop TOR 3 3 0 56 0 56.0 7.09 3.26 0.99 .294 70.1% 4.28 4.28 0.0 15 Angel Bastardo TOR 1 1 0 15 0 15.0 7.99 3.74 1.21 .287 71.9% 4.28 4.49 0.0 16 Easton Lucas TOR 1 1 0 26 0 26.0 7.92 3.72 1.17 .288 71.7% 4.31 4.47 0.0 17 Ryan Yarbrough TOR 1 1 0 24 0 24.0 6.68 2.41 1.30 .286 70.2% 4.35 4.62 0.0 18 Braydon Fisher TOR 1 1 0 18 0 18.0 8.90 4.85 1.17 .289 72.3% 4.50 4.65 0.0
  12. Mason Fluharty has been a real story in camp. Another strikeout and soft contact groundout to bring his K:BB to 9/1 in 6 IP (3 HBP though). Lefties and righties both are having uncomfortable ABs against him.
  13. Rainer Nunez hit a 416 ft HR with an exit velo of 110.9 mph. Easy to see why he's still in the org despite the fact that his performance as a 1B only guy has been pretty underwhelming. There's big power there if he's able to lift the ball with frequency.
  14. lol @ hitting singles approach for a guy who has near perfect launch angles when he connects and doesn't have the hit tool to put bat to ball consistently.
  15. Bo is gonna have a 5+ WAR season off the back of a 145 wRC+ and like -10 OAA at SS.
  16. I can see why the Yankees were quick to move Ben Rice off C at the MLB level. I don't think I've seen him block one pitch in the dirt cleanly. Bo with another no doubter bomb to CF. He looks healthy at the plate.
  17. Also one thing I'm confused about is how Schreck can start the season in AAA. The depth chart as it stands: MLB: Varsho (IL) Springer Santander (DH) Joey Loperfido/Myles Straw/Steward Berroa/Alan Roden (4th OF + Varsho replacement) AAA/on the cusp: Joey Loperfido Myles Straw Alan Roden Nathan Lukes Jonatan Clase Steward Berroa Will Robertson Something has to give. Even if we forget about Schreck there's way too many OF guys in AAA, and at least 3-4 of those guys deserve regular ABs.
  18. Again want to highlight how excellent the prospects coverage has been. These are terrific writeups for the 21st and 22nd best prospects in the org. Schreck might be an interesting guy as a platoon corner OF. The short sample in AA is promising, he's no star level ceiling guy but seems like an advanced hitter, projections already peg him as a league average guy. 2025 is the year that determines if he's an Alan Roden type of riser, or a Will Robertson break-glass-in-case-of-emergency 4th OF AAAA dude. Clase is probably underrated given his age. There are real tools there as a CF capable switch-hitter with legit speed and raw power. Won't turn 23 until late May. Jose Siri as a 55 CF defender (as opposed to Siri's 70) with more balanced splits anyone? He already takes way more walks than Siri ever did in the minors. High probability legit 4th OF option with some breakout potential.
  19. I remember the collective frustrations for a lot of us on the old board, lamenting every time Charlie Montoyo would give Joe Panik another opportunity at 3B. The fact that Ross Atkins managed to get anything of value for Panik - a guy literally on his last few months as a professional - at the deadline, let alone two real contributors in half a season of Dickerson and two legit good seasons of Adam Cimber, remains nothing short of spectacular. Panik never did anything wrong in his tenure as a Jay, aside from overperforming in ST and being such a "professional baseball player" to get him enamored by Charlie Montoyo and the Blue Jays broadcasting crew that we saw him play way more than he had any right to.
  20. Gausman struggling with velo early on. Sitting 91-92.
  21. If only he didn't have Guerrero-itis. Man is a certified worm killer, 53% GB rate at AA last season, hasn't run an ISO above .200 (as a 1B only guy) since the complex league in 2021.
  22. Trey Yesavage video from the outing: https://mlb-cuts-diamond.mlb.com/FORGE/2025/2025-03/15/83c8bba5-6a04affc-d79b8920-csvm-diamondgcp-asset_1280x720_59_4000K.mp4 Over the top delivery as advertised. Touches 96. One K which was clearly on a splitter/changeup type pitch, one on the fastball, and another on a pitch that was harder to tell. 85 with big drop, slider maybe? Could also be an overpronated splitter that hung somewhat, as the camera angle makes it look like it runs arm side.
  23. Christian Bethancourt has an absolute cannon behind the plate.
