So the second start was a lot more promising even if he suffered from many of the same faults as the first one. The strikeouts were there, the fastball looks like an easy plus pitch even when he's not commanding it properly. I'd say the command of his secondaries were his biggest issue on this one, he couldn't consistently place the breaking balls down and the changeup while he threw a few decent ones was often flat and elevated. The fastball command absolutely must get better, but he's shown that it's a good enough pitch where even if he misses spots hitters have a tough time with it.
The end result is a decent 4.37 xFIP at Yankee Stadium, with poor command and some bad luck leading to inflated FIP and ERA. Could be a lot worse for his second time in the bigs, the elite reliever potential is alive and well, but we'll be hoping for him to turn it around his next few starts as he gets more experience at the highest level.
