  1. He rates about average or slightly above by both UZR and DRS, and like you said definitely passes the eye test. That's an awesome outcome for his first season there with limited reps. By next season when he's comfortable and starts off at normal positions we could really see his defensive numbers stand out, assuming he doesn't regress.
  2. Gurriel does it again!
  3. A lot can still go wrong with a head first slide. I'd rather him be out there in this game that means nothing over risking an injury there.
  4. I think he's out but it's really close.
  5. Attaboy Reese.
  6. He's got a career 2.1 fWAR/150, I'd say that's decent. They probably expected him to get a little better as well.
  7. Santander is a f***ing disaster in the outfield.
  8. Pannone is completely dominating.
  9. We just lost the trade from that play.
  10. Bo had an unreal AB to lead off the game. Vladdy being Vladdy.
  11. Again, Woods Richardson has fewer walks and more strikeouts at the same age, which you would think would indicate better control and stuff. His K-BB% is third best in all of A ball, and he's doing it as an 18 year old, four months older than Pardinho, who has been injured a lot.
  12. How on earth is he giving up more contact with a better strikeout rate?
  13. WHIP in the minor leagues is completely irrelevant, the walks should tell you all you need to know. Minor league defenses are terrible, and it's been reported that Woods-Richardson in particular has suffered from very bad defense behind him.
  14. Less command and control of his pitches? SWR has fewer walks than Pardinho in more professional innings and at more advanced levels. This is an outlandish take unless you can somehow prove it.
  15. Murphy was doing outstanding in AA but with the whole reworking his illegal delivery thing that halted his development and a likely promotion.
  16. I'm assuming he'll take the role of an opener/bulk guy or long man out of the 'pen? His numbers in AA aren't very flashy so while even though he can start I'm not sure it would be best that he does, unless the team knows something that we don't.
  17. I'd probably lean on the former. His shoulder must be f***ed.
  18. And even in the Voit deal, the Cardinals got a legitimately elite reliever in Giovanny Gallegos.
  19. They'll just cycle Teoscar, Grichuk and Fisher through 2 OF positions and the DH, plenty to make them play at least 2 or 3 games in a row before sitting, that's basically playing full time.
  20. It should be noted that they have both SWR and Kay as 50 grade prospects. Just saying. Granted, they're far more lenient with throwing 50s than many other prospect publications. Aggressive ranking of Manoah.
  21. There's video on his Instagram and live pitching and he can throw 92-95 from the mound as well, so it's no mirage.
  22. Jo Adell was promoted to AAA. He's 20 years and 3 months old.
  23. Nate Pearson was mic'd up for the Futures game and it's interesting to hear him talk briefly about his stuff and how he went to the driveline guys to improve his pitches.
  24. Yes? Max Muncy is by no means a bad defender.
  25. Biggio was most certainly drafted by this front office group. I'll give the previous regime the credit for drafting Danny Jansen, but it's rather interesting that he only started being a good asset in 2017, when the current FO was firmly in charge of player development. Come on bro, at least do your research if you're going to call someone out.
