  1. They still need rest. Overusing the bullpen is just going to lead to injuries either right away or down the road. Granted teams already don't really care about their non elite relievers but if in a contending position I would think they'd only up the usage in games down the stretch/into the playoffs.
  2. Elite negotiation from his agent.
  3. You gotta wonder the nature of some of these negotiations. Like was Asa Lacy's agent just dead set on $6000 more or he walks? "My client is going back to college for one more year if he doesn't get his dream gaming setup!"
  4. Could have sworn I sent you the pick last night. Weird.
  5. Jim's 2021 2nd rounder for 25th overall (A.K.A. 2-5). Jim to confirm. The future pick part can be done on Fantrax but once Jim confirms the 2020 part needs to be processed on the spreadsheet.
  6. With Brailyn Marquez gone I officially put up my remaining picks for future picks if anyone is interested, and they can be dissolved once they come up if no one has traded for them.
  7. Apologies to everyone who inquired on pick #5, with very few people have multiple future first round selections I decided to just drop someone and go with some of the top talent available. Zac Veen and Nick Gonzales - counting on you for this one J4L.
  8. Good shout but he's still forever away, even relative to Groshans IMO. If everything goes perfectly (a big if) he's more of a #1 prospect kicking the door down when these guys are in year 2-4 of their MLB careers. An excellent problem to have if that's the case.
  9. FWIW Statcast had Biggio as an elite defender at 2B, and with that in mind and his good speed there's reason to believe he can likely play an average OF with more reps and a larger sample size. There's also the possibility that Bo isn't a good enough defender at SS to justify keeping him there longterm, which is where Martin or Groshans if he develops well defensively can step in. I think we're going to have the luxury of versatility with many of these young, athletic guys after Vlad inevitably gets pushed to 1B/DH.
  10. So you think it's normal to go around comparing draft picks to hall of famers? How is Benintendi not a good comp other than his handedness? Good hit tool, low strikeouts, average power, plays above average defense. Explain to me how Paul Molitor, first ballot Hall of Famer, is a better comp than that.
  11. IMO expanded playoffs makes a lot of sense for a shortened season, but it sucks that it's likely to carry over into the next CBA. Can we keep it from half the teams making the playoffs please?
  12. Benintendi is a good comp. Benintendi with excellent defense at a valuable position and versatility would be a really good outcome.
  13. I feel like you guys need to realize the majority of these reporters are being fed info directly either from the MLB/owners or the MLBPA. Heyman in particular has always reported from the owners' POV, others from the other camp. When X says there is "optimism" or belief that the newest proposal is "fair" that's coming right from the horse's mouth and should really not mean anything until the agreement is confirmed.
  14. So you see Jim Callis referring to the Betts and Rendon comps as outlandish given that those two are among the best players in the game at the moment, so your rebuttal to that is hey, let's compare him to a Hall of Famer whose calling card was his bat. lol
  15. I just realized I have picks 4 and 5. I'm willing to move pick 5 as well, or move one of my prospects to make room.
  16. I don't really see the rush in making the draft so soon but oh well. I'm looking to trade all my picks past the first round for future picks if anyone is interested.
  17. Ask and ye shall receive. https://www.mlb.com/news/2020-mlb-draft-bonus-slots
  18. Yeah lol, I usually like to get myself hyped about a prospect by watching them perform on the field, not a clip of them being an *******.
  19. This is a weird thing to say. Pearson wasn't making the team out of spring training and although it would seem likely he would now I feel like we're jumping the gun a little here. How many innings can he even get in a shortened season? He might not even be eligible to graduate from prospects lists.
  20. Reading this makes me think he either grows into homerun power or the Jays believe they can tweak his swing/swing plane to make that happen.
  21. Ross Atkins definitely picked this guy to troll the Orioles. That's some big dick energy from Ross.
  22. Holy f*** the Giants' latest draft pick just got a Ryan Goins comp. Imagine being a fan and hearing that your 68th pick in the draft has Ryan Goins potential.
