  1. J-Ram's aggressiveness on the bases killing the Guardians for a third time.
  2. What a brutal error for Vest. Perfect feed from Torkelson, chance to get out of the jam up 6-1 still in the driver's seat.
  3. I can't believe Darvish gave PCA anything to hit, let alone a fastball right down broadway.
  4. Darvish unraveling. Bases loaded no out, let's see if another no run occurrence comes out of this one.
  5. Having a hard time convincing myself that Jameson Taillon starting this elimination game for the Cubs is any better than Cleveland going with Slade Cecconi. The Cade Horton injury this late in the season was brutal timing for them.
  6. Yeah definitely, plus it's also the familiarity aspect of the hitters facing the same guy so often. If starters have a times through the order penalty, then surely relievers do as well when they're seeing them every day. And Gaddis is no Mason Miller that the stuff just wins out ultimately.
  7. Between this and the Juan Soto bomb in last year's playoffs, Hunter Gaddis might not be a very popular guy in Cleveland.
  8. Oh yeah, they're done now.
  9. With Cleveland's offense, or lack thereof, that might genuinely be the series right there.
  10. If there's one thing I want it's my pitcher taking his sweet time in an elimination game with a fast runner burning it down the line.
  11. Javy Baez is dominating this series for Detroit.
  12. He didn't just Patrick Bailey his way to it either, a very respectable 109 wRC+ with a .360 xwOBA. Of course, he's also an exceptional defensive catcher.
  13. Probably the most underrated catcher in baseball, maybe one of the most underrated players period, Dillon Dingler with the big go-ahead HR. 4 WAR season!
  14. My god, this Cleveland defense is absolutely pathetic.
  15. This Cleveland crowd is electric. There's just nothing like playoff baseball.
  16. And he drives the run in on a ball lol. Gotta give credit to Flaherty for executing his pitches pretty well, JRam is just a monster.
  17. TIgers' inability to score with men on base will surely cost them again later this game. Honestly lucky in scoring the first run with the 1B having a real shot at preventing the run if he came up with it cleanly.
  18. Cleveland is playing some horrendous defense this series. Endless number of bobbles.
  19. 8th pitch second inning is ideal for them. Increases the likelihood that they push him for a full second time through the order.
  20. https://www.mlb.com/news/guardians-2025-al-wild-card-series-roster He's not on their roster at all. This makes no sense, even if he had pitched on Saturday/Sunday I'd prefer him going here than Cecconi, or at least a piggyback like you're suggesting.
  21. I have no idea how he's their starter. Is Parker Messick injured or something? Would have neutralized Greene, Carpenter and McKinstry as well.
  22. Lot of pitches for Cecconi early, but the stuff looked good. I imagine the plan is hoping he gets through 1 time through the order cleanly and then pull him at the first sign of trouble during his second go around.
  23. The surprising thing to me is the Padres and Cubs getting such awful time slots. Chicago is no stranger to weekday daytime games, but still a bit shocked they couldn't get better start times than they've been getting. Particularly brutal for West Coast Padres viewership. Feel like they could at least have started one hour later than they have been, but then I guess it would've taken away from Red Sox-Yankees viewership.
  24. I doubt many are watching Detroit vs Cleveland on prime time anyway, is the counterargument. Lost viewership from starting Boston vs New York outside prime hours probably vastly outweighs the added viewership boost of giving the lesser ratings game a peak TV spot.
  25. If he didn’t he wouldn’t be in the league lol
