96 followed by a cement mixer slider. He might actually be hurt or overworked. Awful swing from Riley Greene there.

This is an unbelievable game plan. 12 pitches, 12 sliders. It’s not like he’s a one trick pony, the fastball also grades as an excellent pitch with obviously elite velo.

Not sure how you aren’t sitting slider at this point until he shows you otherwise.

Not sure how you don’t throw Carpenter a fastball up and out of the zone after 7 consecutive sliders.

To be fair his regular season load is not that egregious for a reliever. Jeff Hoffman for instance pitched 6 more innings and got into 7 more games. Not sure if keeping his usage low in the regular season was on purpose but he should be pretty fresh all things considered.

Holton should have been in a batter earlier. The ride your starters to the end crowd eating good in this game.
