Brett Gardner is the perfect example of this. Just as annoying as Kiermaier against the Jays, but he looks like a thumb on steroids and therefore is easily more hateable.
It's a stupid detail but I love Roark having awareness of how his defense is positioned and letting the ball go rather than make an attempt at it and potentially ruin a tailor made DP. He did it when Meadows was at the plate too.
It was an outside changeup, probably started looking like a fastball on the black and then dove away, it is what it is. Some excellent ABs in that inning, Teoscar included IMO.
Is anyone actually a fan of Waguespack? I've actually been rather impressed with him. Considering he's a mop up/long man and keeps getting dicked around between the taxi squad and the active roster he's gotten more swings and misses than I expected and ate up some necessary innings. Not the worst guy in his current role and the projections aren't awful. He has a nice enough pitch mix that he isn't just getting rocked all the time.
His average EV and hard hit rates are both elite. I know he gets shifted, but his xWOBA going into this game was like .376. He hits the ball quite hard when he connects.
I saw it too, but I think it was just speculation. Why would a team in the Angels' position move a good, cheap young player like him? Doesn't really make any sense.
A lot. He's an elite defender all over the field, an average hitter who can show more from time to time and never strikes out, and he's young and cheap. Probably not worth the prospect capital to acquire. The Angels aren't likely to move a guy like that.
I think even more embarrassing are the Angels' odds. You're telling me a team with two of the best players in baseball along with a pretty solid offensive core can't even sniff the playoffs when half the league can make it in? Pathetic.
