Believe it or not, Villar has the fourth highest projected OBP among the starting lineup. So unless you want Vlad, Shaw or Panik leading off (the guys with higher projected OBPs), then Villar is actually the right choice. His career OBP is .327 and it was .339 last season in a much larger sample size than this year, unlike Panik and Shaw who have been awful for a couple of seasons in a row, so it's not actually that bad of a decision to have him lead off.
