  1. That splitter is filthy.
  2. After the Royals game fiasco I’d rather just say f*** it and put Swanson and Romano to close it out regardless of the lead. Tomorrow is an off day anyway.
  3. Yimi Garcia and those forearms just dominated the Angels’ best three hitters.
  4. Jesus he just blew Trout away with 99 gas down the pipe.
  5. People say this bullpen doesn’t have velocity and nobody says a f***ing word when Yimi Garcia is out there pumping 97-98 with tons of movement.
  6. Trout is probably dead inside.
  7. Kiermaier was such an incredible addition to the team.
  8. FFS Jansen, you can’t be whiffing on a middle-middle breaking ball in that spot.
  9. Varsho’s bunts are perfect and they come out of nowhere. That could be a big runner, hopefully.
  10. That’s an incredible pick.
  11. Pop’s arm is gonna fall off with this usage.
  12. Like nobody should effortlessly hit that breaking ball at eye level as a rocket up the middle.
  13. Jansen has been swinging an absolute pool noodle early in the season. Little concerning, given that he’s previously also lost all ability to hit before.
  14. I really don’t think Kikuchi has been that bad up to this point. The sun aided ball also cost him 10+ pitches, one of which was the awful one to Renfroe that I think by far was his worst today. He’s only given up three hit balls over 100+ mph, one of which was Othani turning on an inside breaking ball to drive it opposite field 400 feet.
  15. I don’t know, maybe giving benefit of the doubt to one of the best outfielder defenders in the game over the guy sitting on his couch criticizing his technique, as if you know any better.
  16. Kikuchi has 10 swings and misses on 72 pitches and only one walk. His only real mistake to me was the Renfroe pitch, Ohtani just did unicorn things to him. I’m honestly more impressed and encouraged with this start than the Kansas City one by a mile, brutal scoreline aside. He still just misses wildly every now and then with his fastball, but the slider has been sharp, low and inside to righties has been killer this game.
  17. Maybe someone should’ve told Varsho to use his glove so he could block both his view of the sun and the ball at the same time.
  18. High 70s? He’s a sinker baller lol, middling spin rate on the fast ball is not unexpected. Sandy Alcantara had 51st percentile fastball spin last season, he did okay with that.
  19. Man sometimes there just isn’t anything you can do. That ball wasn’t some line drive right at him, it was a moonshot that took forever to come down. He obviously tried his best to play it well but the sun just wins every now and then. Happens to good and bad outfielders every year throughout the season.
  20. You could see the pitch had a bit of tail to it. It was just an awfully located changeup. Kikuchi has fully moved away from his cutter.
  21. The homerun was on a changeup. Kikuchi has not thrown a cutter all year.
  22. ITT: people who have never seen a player lose a ball in the sun before.
  23. Pop just made Ohtani look silly. Good pitching.
  24. Berrios actually looks good this game. 3 runs charged to him is not at all indicative of how much better his stuff and location have been.
