  1. Gibby finally employs a proper defensive sub and people are on his nuts? It's not his fault Donaldson and Goins decided that no one could be left on third base that game.
  2. Saunders? Not the same type of disappointment but still disappointment.
  3. That's why Loup(lefty) and Francis(long-man) were called up... were debating the 10th man in the pen and I highly doubt the difference between Tepera and Delabar (which isn't much, IMO) has any impact.
  4. Jays pen is already full of arms. Why not bring someone up who has a chance to be back next year than Delabar who is most likely done as a Blue Jay after this season.
  5. I'm going to be trying to nab some single game tickets come the end of Sept. No playoff priority is just the price you have to pay for the Fan Pass.
  6. Francis really the only surprise. Delabar gets shunned.
  7. What did Buck just call our new President.... ShaPIEro?
  8. All this Stroman in September news tingles my loins. I'll temper my expectations until I see him on the mound.
  9. Banning a GDT starter before the game even starts should be heresy.
  10. Given Goins propensity to get on base recently, I like the move to #9. Not sure why Revere was moved out of that spot though.
  11. This GDT had some great moments. I personally enjoyed 2 pages of "WTF Gibby, Lowe in a low-leverage situation? SHOULD BE BO" that morphed into comments around "Lowe getting hurt by the BABIP monster" in an attempt to justify the position that Lowe should be used in high-leverage situations. Followed by Gibby actually using Schultz for 2 innings and no one admitting that hey, maybe we overreacted. This ish is gold I tell you, gold.
  12. I think he has a legit chance of coming back in Sept (as stated from AA himself). I'm ok with this given how Goins has played. My bigger fears around this team are how Martin has fallen off and JD's workload. Would like to give both players a couple more days off before the stretch run in Sept.
  13. Love the depth our current pen has if it is used. With our starters going longer and the ton of tight games recently, Schultz's and Hendricks haven't seen much and I think we all want to see a bit more Lowe if for nothing else but to see what we have in him. Not worried about next year as I think pens can be cobbled together on a yearly basis with smart and prudent moves. Although I am worried Osuna will not want to be stretched out as a starter...
  14. Uh oh... this feels like it was written to bait the Orioles Hangout.
  15. Add in the rumours around Martin being banged up and I too believe this is the move to come on Tuesday.
  16. No, but given the Revere trade, Pennington acquisition (something hinted at byAA during the DFA process) and EE/Cola split at DH, his playing time would only decrease over the next two months. If there were already issues regarding his PT it would only get worse. Furthermore, we don't know what goes on in the clubhouse, so the posters not buying the clubhouse reason don't need to buy it, they just need to understand it is a possibility (not you BigCecil, just in general). Either way, I think optioning Loup was the better choice; even if it was only for a week before Pennington arrived. I like the idea of giving JD some bench days or having a serviceable backup at third (with a bat) that doesn't currently occupy a starting spot in the top 9.
  17. I'll take a full bandwagon over a 13k Tuesday night anyday. If you wanted to ensure you had games late into this season, should of purchased them early on. Also, although there was a sellout today, the 500 level was probably 60% full. I'm certain a ton of tickets are on the secondary market and can be had for slightly above cost if you are willing to wait a couple innings.
  18. While it may not be 'silly', it definitely shows your cards to the team and organization with regards to what you really care about...
  19. No doubt this is a huge hit, and I'm almost certain we will see another couple names on the DL before April hits. My money's on Norris for a staph infection contracted while trying to shower in the Walmart bathroom.
  20. Terrible, terrible news. Gonna take a bit to get over this one... No one to blame but horrible luck. Oh and a big f*** you to all the hindsight crusaders spewing about a lack of pitching depth. Trying to use this incident to further some self righteous BS.
  21. And if they did, I wouldn't open my mouth to take veiled shots at previous co-workers, my bosses and the company culture. (No doubt that I put this more on Bob Elliott and trying to create a narrative where there should be none)
  22. The revisionist historians in this thread are mind boggling. Freak accident and horrible luck. Only criticism that can be waged is a lack of MLB depth in the OF to start camp; but as Hurl pointed out, there is a ton of time to scoop up someone else's replacement level player before April roles around. I'll wait til April to truly panic.
  23. There's being honest, and then there is being unprofessional. This whole fiasco says more about Lind and Bob Elliott than it does about the Jays. Call me a whiner, but I'm not the one talking about my old place of employment like a jaded ex-gf. Man the f*** up and move on.
  24. It's not even March yet... Freak accident costing a play ~18 weeks. Talk about taking the wind out of the sails of this team.
