  1. Hey read my 2:00 AM post about backontops green earth! The responses to that line should be fun...........Do you really think I'm serious? I told you for some reason Toronto fans are short of brains, maby playing too much hockey without a helmet?
  2. We are only 1 1/2 games behind of Tampa, 6 games behind second place Baltimore who we play this weekend who are only 2 games behind the Red Sox who only a year ago were worst then us. There are no Green Bay Packers in the AL East, in fact Toronto looks like the class of the AL East and there are more than 90 games to go. So see, the man on the Fan 590 knows what he is talking about. Maby next year you will listen to him, but imagine if it was April 2014, there is no way in Backontops green earth that the Blue Jays will ever have a month like that again.
  3. It seems I remember that name in a dream. Is this guy a hidden GEM?! So many great starting pitchers of the past wore number 32. Steve Carelton and Sandy Koufax just for starters. When someone goes down it looks like bad news, but often it is just a blessing in disguise. Just like Lawrie can take the rest of the year off on the DL because we aren't missing anything, and as long as Rocket Ismil continues to pitch this good, who needs Morrow. Things are starting to look up for this great team! Wang and Rogers who would have thunk it. One more game with Colorado with iron man Mark Buehlre pitching, then 10 games with three easy teams, Baltimore, Tampa Bay and Boston, where will we be then?
  4. Running around the bases at full speed for practice before the game begins doesn't count. The guy just can't hit any better then Kawaski, at least Kawaski knows how to walk.
  5. Yes I remember Mike Wilner in April, I didn't know who was more repugnant, the Blue Jays or Mike Wilner...........to stay on the subject of the thread.
  6. I just listened to Mike Wilner, June 18, after the Jays won their 7th game in a row and finally heard an intelligent caller ask him what is Bonifacios value to the team, Wilner let his mind wonder and responded with a stupid answer, something like, he is a great 25th man on the team. This guy can't hit, we gave him a chance, he was just a "throw in" in that trade with Miami, I say lets cut the ties with this guy and, we'll at least let that second baseman from Buffalo who is almost 30 but batting 360 play a few games. He can always DH too, and would probably be a better 25th man on the roster then Bonifacio.
  7. Dickey, Johnson, Buehlre, Wang, Rogers.............Morrow because its the 21st century and you can't be set on a sure FIVE anymore. Morrow for back up just in case, BTW people forget about Drabek. He's only Dougs son, maby he could be our bat boy, but if it was up to me, DL dudes would be the bat and ball boys.
  8. WANG, Hutchison and Ortiz, Of course DICKEY if his if nuckle ball has been 'nuckling'. Izzy at short, Boni at second, but I'd prefer Lawrie, Pinch runner, Davis for sure! Lind at first, JPA catching, I haven't seen enough of Thole, Set up man, nobodys better than Cecil, Closer Janssen by a long shot!
  9. We'll Mr. Gregg, I threw weighted baseballs at home to my brother when I was 17, and in a game I threw so fast no one could catch up with it, if it went accross the plate. When it went accross the plate, it was so fast no body could see it. The problem was 50% of the time it went accross the plate and 50% of the time it went behind the batter, needless to say there were batters jumping back out of the batters box when I went into my wind up. My downfall was walking too many batters, but thats what pitching coaches are for. And in a small town like I was from, there was no such thing as PITCHING Coaches.
  10. Sell high on Lind because like V. Wells he will dog-f*** next year and the year after. Turning Janssen and Cecil into starters would make the fans s***, because they don't know Dellabar and Loup alone are so-called STOPPERS material. And both of them today( Janssen & Cecil) would be starting aces for any other team. They both were originally starters you know. But hey, in 2016 we have SANCHEZ and other good starters, IF THEY DON'T GET HURT! WHICH I'M SURE THEY WILL.
  11. Cowboy GD, you should repeat all night "Goddie How da Dougie is a DUMB DUDE"!
  12. Teaching the batters how to walk is going to hurt the Jays pitchers arms???????????????????
  13. [QUOT didn't know Canadians were so dumb. That is all Kawaski gave to the Blue Jays when he was here and you want to keep him? I come up with an idea and you are so stupid you misunderstand. I'm getting sick of Mike Wilners callers, I thought it was because smart callers won't call him, but now I see it is not Mike, its you VERY DUMB baseball fans!!!!!!!!!!! I have to check out the $36.00 special where you can get any other team on that, Detroit or anywhere but Toronto the fans have to be better!!E=Atothe;54358]Cecil has a 0.9 war per Fangraphs. Simply amazing
  14. As far as a triple crown, Detroits M. Cabreea (pardon me for my Spanish spelling) has a chance to do that two years in a row. I seen Frank Robinson do it in 66, then Carl YAZ in 67, but never in my 54 years as a fan have I ever seen that feat repeated. With baseball, just when you think you've seen it all, you are surprized that you haven't. You never know what you are going to see the next day!
  15. OK I admit it, instead of winning 100 games this year, we will probably win 93, but wait til next year!
  16. How do you hear from the expert, "The BluJay", the man who knows whats going in the Blue Jays Minor leagues? Other then Drabec, who is not his Dad and hutchinson, (don't want to go thru ten years of Dustin McGovern again. Is there one or two names who can become Blue Jays starters in April 2014?) In your humble opinion sir? Caz wez gonna need them.
  17. I don't like Drabek, his first name is not Doug, so when I hear of of Drabek, it makes me dream of Cecil and Casey Janeson being starters again, but in your expert opinion, is someone other then Hutchinson ready to become a starter in April 2014?
  18. Again for the stupid people, to be the come back player of the year, You have to have been great in the first place! His rookie or early 2009 season don't count because he was not great then, if he helps us win the world series in 2013, then he will become great, then 5 years from now when he is playing good ball be cause he hopes for one more big contract and he has a good season because what he did back in 2013, then he will THEN qualify for the "come back player" of the year. I'm sorry to be negative, but Linds great work ethic is only because he has a chance to make many many millions over the next 3 to 5 years or settle for the minimum wage of 800,000 dollars. "Mothers DO let your sons grow up to be baseball players!"
  19. Lind suked during 2010, 2011 and 2012, why can't fans understand that? Yes let him help win all the games we can in 2013, but do not berate the Blue Jays for letting this nice and quite shy, yet still parasite, Lind go to the Yankees or one of the other three teams in the AL. East because I KNOW he will stank in 2014. BTW, have you noticed now that Steinbrenner has left us, the Yankees are no better then the Orioles, Red Sox and Rays. So best trade him to one of those four teams.
  20. No, Linds hot streak has been too short, but I was watching his mechanics on TV over the weekend. Its amazing what you can learn fron hitting coaches IF YOU LISTEN! But if his great hitting continues, why not? it's just he never was a star to begin with, so NO, he shouldn't qualify. Come back players are for great players who have gone into the dumps, then come back.
  21. OK, so much respect for Bob MCGowan, he said he stood behind the back stop in March and Sanchez blew his head off so to speak with his fast ball like he was going to be another Bob Feller. I guess whatever you hear in March you can take with a grain of salt. When I heard that I made sure I didn't forget the name Sanchez. Don't know what McGowan was doing all winter but who cares.
  22. Colby and especially Lind just shut up and listened to Motolla, Rasmus seen what a dif Lind was hitting then got the idea, "Hey man listen to this guy"y (Motolla) You fans DO NOT know what multi millions do to your psyche. Lots of money is great, TOO MUCH KILLS ETC!
  23. When I first looked at this thread, I thought Ho-Hum, because all of my life I knew dik about what was happening in the JAYS minors until articles in the paper mentioned this guy or that guy, but this is a great source. The Starting Pitcher Sanchez, who Bob McGowan and others was so thrilled about on the radio last March for example. I heard two different sources, MW on "talking em up Blue Jays" said wait for 3 or 4 years, and some posters recently said NEXT YEAR! I wish. Who knows more. I like Mike in a way, and in another way I don't like him, so thats why I don't respect his opinion. I heard he is FAST! If you can't see it you can't hit it. Could he be a Blue Jay next year?
  24. This guy has already done what he can for Cecil and Delibar if I understand this thread correctly. It would be bigger news if when Reyes comes back that the Blue Jays hire Kawaski as the coach to teach the rest of out hitters how to draw walks. Especially speedsters like Bonifacio, when you have a man on second after walking, 90% of the time he will score AND there will be no double play, when you have a man on third with less then two outs there are 13 ways he can score. Any readers know those 13 ways he can score?
  25. Jamie Evans huh? I originally came up with the idea of throwing weighted baseballs when I was in High School. It worked, but I made the mistake most people make, "who do I think I am? I could never pitch in the Major Leagues" How you BELEIVE has stopped so many people from being great at many things! Remember a once great man once said if you THINK you can or THINK you can't, you are right. I wish I would have known that fact when I was young.
