  1. Whats the point of keeping Lawrie? Some people say that he is only 23! Yeah! he is 23 not 13, so if you can get anything for the __________ then you should grab it and take it all the way to the bank. Paying his cost for his stay in a mental institution would not be worthwhile. Again the reason we don't hire a Shrink to straighten Romeros problems out is because there is a stigma attached to anyone in society with a mental problem, can you imagine a multimillionaire with an ego.......... Hense the Blue Jays have to swallow his 20 million dollars Otherwise they could afford the best Shrink money could buy.
  2. Give me a catcher that can bat 300 and hit 30 home runs, pitchers don't need to be babied by the catcher now these days, if I was a major league pitcher, I'd tell him just to catch whatever I throw and that I don't need you flashing signs at me, I'll throw what I want.......you just worry about catching, and I'll worry about pitching.
  3. Reyes Isturis (he's getting better) Encarnation Lind Bautisa Rasmus Cabrera Arencibia Kawasaki..........New line up from the new manager Mr. Backontop, "quite an approiate name Pat, yes Buck ...........
  4. GSNARLS said"Its just a matter of time before a few batters start cooling off", Are you aware during are current winning streak, Cabreara and Bautista have been in very bad slumps, yes Jose got us a big key home run one game recently, but these two are due to pick up the pace so that if another couple Blue Jays go into slumps during are second 11 game winning streak (which would set a MLB winning streak record, 20, or 21 is the record.), that if two other guys go into slumps, Cabreara and Baustista should pick them up. Melkey was great in May but has gone back to his doldrums of making too many outs again. I know Jose will be back, but Melkey??? Gose can be a great game changer even if he only gets on base 1 of 4 times, he's a sure steal to second. If they counted steals like a hit with your batting ave, this 230 hitter could "hit/steal" .300. Lets bring him up and at least alternate with Melkey, because IMO I don't think Melkey is that much of a valuable left fielder.
  5. This trade talk of Reyes shocks me! You don't normally trade an all star shortstop as we approach the All-Star game. But have you guys read something I haven't read? That would be exciting because I'm sure we would get a good player or two in return. I hope it happens, then I would have more faith in Beeston and AA, because this guy was ready to play at least two weeks ago, a sprained ankle, how many of you had one of those and he needs to miss almost two months? Most of us get over a sprained ankle in a week.
  6. Why all of these silly so called rehab games in Buffalo? Is he on the pipe? For over 100 years of MLB when a player was ready to play, he resumed with the big league club. So krak is the reason why he is always smiling all of the time. Otherwise we need him as our lead off hitter vs. Tampa Bay tommorow night not wasting a proven .300 hitter playing in Buffalo.
  7. I'm originally from the US, maby you have to be a American to understand the psychology of what I'm talking about,,. Because New York is the biggest city in the greatest country in the world (sorry thats what they taught us in school), there could be five teams in the AL, and call it the New York Division, we'd accept that. In fact that would be great. But I still say the Vancouver Rays sounds so much better than the New Jersey Rays.......(Montreal had their chance), I remember when the FLORIDA MARLINS and the COLORADO ROCKIES joined MLB, I thought P U, the two worst names that they could be. For many years the Denver Bears was a popular tripple A team,(a very good MLB name), we'll since then Florida switched to Miami, the Colorado Rockies along with Arizona Diamondbacks stink up the image of the NL west IMO. Minnesota Twins and Texas Rangers sound OK.
  8. OK if they move to New Jersey, that would be kool, but for Gods sake don't call them New Jersey, the rest of America won't accept that name, it sounds like a weak college team on the east coast. Thats why the New York Jets and Giants are still called NEW YORK, it has a much more respectble sound.
  9. Deadpool, somehow you are misunderstanding me. I play guitar too, do you remember those F chords especially in the beginning, a beginner can't get his fingers to do what seems so unnatural, but with (by the way many beginners threw their guitar away after having so much trouble with those F chords) persistence they are shocked after awhile they can do it!!! Again you seem to be misunderstanding me. Sometimes you wish Noah and his Party DID miss the boat.
  10. Wow! Thats new info, the Tampa Rays becoming the New York Rays. I like the ideal, both Florida teams can't and never could draw flys. So they should move. Are most Floridians senile? Why don't they draw down there? Any ways for 49 years Oakland could never draw many people because Oakland is where the poor people live, and lots of criminal activity, hense people in San Francisco never would support Oakland, even the many years when they had a good team. San Jose is a different city which is why the Giants want to see the A's stay in a dangerous area. I say let them move to Vancouver or Montreal, at least with the latter they could do no worse than the A's in Oakland since 1964.
  11. If Paul Beeston beats AA in an arguement, Beeston is for what the fans want, AA is for winning.
  12. Its great as long as Rogers isn't the one giving them all of the attention. IMO Rogers is the reason the Jays stank in April, with their excessive ads it spoiled the players much like a mother spoiling one of her kids. Thank God they play 162 games in baseball. Now we are only 6 back instead of being 6 games on top like we would have been if it weren't for Rogers overdoing it in March and April, but they learned their lesson. I think better of AA and Beeston now that we have won 10 in a row.
  13. Deadpool & Spanky a great guitarist has become unconsciously competent, because like a beginning guitar player who has to THINK about how to play the C Chord or the G chord etc until he becomes unconsciouly competent which takes a lot of practice, what do you mean it is unmitigated B.S.? The beginners goal is to become unconsciously competent, which takes a lot of practice. Yogi wasn't very educated, which makes many of his quotes so funny, Like Dizzy Dean who also didn't go to school, both men were very smart especially when it came to baseball. A great pitcher like Ricky who once was great, (unlike a great guartist who knows why he is great) can start asking himself, why am I so good, and worry about losing his great touch, similar to a person with OCD's his head gets all screwed up. He just needs to go back to thinking like he did when he was at So. Calif. He can get his thinking straightened out again and become the Ricky Romero he once was. Some people like to over use the word troll???
  14. Most experts agree that Romeros problems have been mental, not mechanical. Yogi Berra said baseball is 50% physical and 90% mental, well Yogi was a better baseball player than a mathematician, of course he meant 10% physical and 90% mental. I think what happened with Ricky was two years he was unconsiously competent, then became incompetent, both consiously and unconsiously. So with practice without him knowing how the brain works, he can become unconsciously competent again. So I expect him back. BTW, being "unconsciously competent" is what seperates a great guitarist from a beginner. I mention that for some people who don't understand what being "unconsciously competent"is. As for Lawrie, he has an altogether different mental problem that may or may not be resolved.
  15. Tuco, if you were the GM of BALT. and I offered you JJ, Boni, Isturis and Lawrie tonight for Manny Machado would we have a deal? Reyes could move to second and Kawaski could play short. The only problem is both teams are vieing for first place in the AL east, otherwise I'd be happy getting a REAL third baseman.
  16. Tuco, "I'd take Gonzalez over Wang", Don't tell me there is another great pitcher on Baltimore by the name of Gonzalez? Didn't we just beat a pitcher by that name early in the Colorado series? I heard (the experts said) all they(BALT) need is one more solid pitcher. Maby after we eliminate them they may be enticed by Josh Johnson? I'd trade Josh Johnson & Lawrie for Machado. Would we need to throw in a third player like Isturis, or more, or am I crazy?
  17. The Blue Jays are only 7 back! The Blue Jays are only 7 back! It was only five minutes from being 8 games behind Boston, but Johnny Peralta just hit a two run HR in the bottom of the ninth for Detroit. This sounds so much better then 8, and you know the baseball Gods are on Torontos side now when we gain a half game and don't even play. Boston was worst than the Blue Jays last year. Why are they playing so good this year, is John Farrell that great of a manager? You know Toronto fans should not have been hard on John Farrell for wanting to manage Boston. Haven't you ever had a dream job? Nothing wrong with that. Anyways it will be fun to start the three game series with Baltimore tomorrow night being only 7 games behind Boston instead of 8 games.
  18. That terrible April has been amended with the present 8 game winning streak! No we will not be haunted by it anymore. IMO, instead of the Blue Jays having an easy time in 2013 with a 10 game lead in the AL East like would have been the case on Labor Day, we will come back gradually and rest in first place on Labor Day but need to battle the two "B" teams, Balt & BOS, for first place during September. The Blue Jays look like the class of the American League East. There was almost no place for error Metallijay, but are 8 game winning streak has changed things. And who knows, it may be a 10 or record breaking 21 game winning streak! Wouldn't that be something. One thing for sure, are pitching is too good to allow another prolonged slump like we had in April, so brighter days ONLY are ahead!
  19. Rogers got his chance due to injuries and proved what he can do which is why mothers should should not let their" sons grow up to be interested in team sports, you can't control your own destination like you can in Golf or tennis. If you don't make it in golf or tennis, you have no one else to blame, remember that Asian Basketball player with the Knicks the winter before last, because of injuries the man who's job it was all season was to keep the bench warm was forced into action then finally had a chance to PROOVE how good he was. (Lin Mania)The same with Rocket Ismil Rogers!
  20. Rasmus is the only guy above average on defense, Reyes is great with the bat, but just average at ss.
  21. Fans who want to complain are screened by Mikes buddy, so I haven't heard any in 2013. Unless you count the guys who call in and tell Mike how much I love your show and you are so smart Mike, then they may get a quick minor insult in but it is like 4 seconds delayed, so Mike calls him a name and shuts him off. That makes for bad sports talk. All you get is Mike Suck-ups and maby a dumb question, Like ",,I don't get it, last night we were tied with Tampa for 5 points and we didn't even play, but because Tampa won, now we are 5 points behind them, I've been watching the Blue Jays for 30 years I don't get it." It makes you ask yourself, why am I listening to this? And mike goes into a 5 minute speech as if he gets paid by the word. No wonder he has lost his voice the past week, the best thing that could happen to this strange but addictive show.
  22. If you are retarded, how can you study anything? Gordie Doodie, you have much to learn, ever hear of a simple phrase that is even in the Bible, "You get what you give" Get rid of your inferior complex, then you won't have to be mean to people to feel good. I don't know that much about free verse poetry, but "I don't know but I've been told that the streets of heaven are lined with gold, If you ask me how things can get any worse is if God lets a little shet like you up there first"........But only to be judged. But your kind should never even walk in heaven, even to be judged. May the good Lord take a liking to you, and strike you down real soon.
  23. Take that ugly hat off so that your brain can breathe. Then you may be able to understand print in black with a white background. Or are you just on this site to insult people which ain't gonna when you any points come JUDGEMENT DAY!
  24. NO, I've been a journey man around the league, especially in Cleveland and Detroit. If this is a site for dumb teen-agers I wish they would say so. Maby I need to find another Blue Jays site, but the bosses let you say your say, I LOVE THAT, but that should not be an excuse to be azzholes. No one on this site remembers Rocket Ismail, he played for the Argos and before that was a super star in the NCAA? Hence the name ROCKET ISMIL, if only he keeps it up, we will have a new and current ROCKET ISMIL!
  25. You didn't think I was talking about the weird Mike Wilner did you?
