I think, barring another addition to the team, he's going to be on the opening day roster. He could be a very good bench piece. Good MiLB numbers, versatile defender.
Biggio was the only one in the lineup today that's even guaranteed to break camp with the team, and he went 2 for 3. Lopez and Barger have shots at the opening day 26 man, but the rest of the team today is likely in the minors all year.
I don't even find it slightly distracting, I sorta liked it in the game today.
I would, however, find it jarring if the ump is calling a ball/strike and there's no indication why unless the announcers happen to have a clue what's happening

I more or less agree. Sounds like he still wants to start, but it'll be a long-shot, and he'll have to work VERY hard to make that kinda progress. Certainly wouldn't be this season at any rate.
