    I hadn't heard of this, but I'm very intrigued. I'd love to see more two way players in the game, it's fun!

    Probably more, 'cause if a ball is hit to the LF corner, that's a 3B or inside the park HR depending on the speed of the runner.

    I think, barring another addition to the team, he's going to be on the opening day roster. He could be a very good bench piece. Good MiLB numbers, versatile defender.

    Pop looks nearly impossible to square up. He's not missing bats today, but I don't see him being hit very hard. Movement for days.

    Biggio was the only one in the lineup today that's even guaranteed to break camp with the team, and he went 2 for 3. Lopez and Barger have shots at the opening day 26 man, but the rest of the team today is likely in the minors all year.

    It would have been pretty hilarious to no hit the O's with a bunch of their opening day starters and our B squad, but close enough!

    I don't even find it slightly distracting, I sorta liked it in the game today. I would, however, find it jarring if the ump is calling a ball/strike and there's no indication why unless the announcers happen to have a clue what's happening

    Exactly what I was looking for since I missed the start of the game. This "central time zone" business is confusing.

    The 3B coach is just windmilling for days.

    Yes, it is. It speeds up the game by shortening one if the least necessary, and most boring parts, the time between pitches.

    I would imagine it's closed for holidays etc, but suspect it would be open most days. I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't be.

    IIRC home plate umps will also have a buzzer that will go off to alert them.

    I have the advantage of throwing like a 7yo girl with my dominant hand. I could field and hit well enough when I played, but f*** was my throwing arm pathetic.

    I guess not everyone is familiar with all internet traditions...

    He's got a glove that will fit both hands. I believe the rule is that he must pick a side before the batter does (in the case of a switch hitter).

    He looks solid as a RHP already. This amphibious pitcher might be the best one yet!

    I more or less agree. Sounds like he still wants to start, but it'll be a long-shot, and he'll have to work VERY hard to make that kinda progress. Certainly wouldn't be this season at any rate.
