  1. Yankees lose, and Hughes (who is on my inherited fantasy team) had a pretty good outing. That's about the best combination of things that could happen!
  2. Well really, Boston had one ridiculous inning, which I'd argue was just as much (if not more) Wang being bad compared to them being good. The rest of the game they looked very ordinary. Saying that Boston looked great today is ignoring the majority of the game.
  3. They certainly played like a great team 1/9th of the time.
  4. Our difference of opinion is basically that you don't think he can offer anything at all, and that I think he can offer a little bit. It's splitting hairs at this point, and the difference between our two positions is pretty small considering that neither of expects much from him... I'm comfortable with him in the #5 role to the point where I wouldn't move any assets for anything less than a significant upgrade.
  5. Google Image Search is what I use...
  6. Wants Kawasaki over Reyes? or something different this time?
  7. The D improves markedly when Lawrie comes back, and Reyes has already given a bit of a boost. (Lind is a pretty good 1B based purely on the eye test as well.) I don't see Wang being destroyed, but I can see 3-5 ERs being his normal output in a 6 inning start.
  8. I don't put a huge amount of stock into "on the road" numbers... I mean, it's the same f***ing game, why'd would it be any different? I think it's often sample size variations. You're right, there are some bad hitters on this team, but the bottom of most line-ups aren't great.
  9. Probably Morrow (who is almost as good, but just as fragile)... Stroman is probably ready for the majors next year too, though I expect him to need a few years to hit his stride.
  10. I think this offence is struggling, but I do think they're good... Reyes, Bautista, Encarnacion, Lind is a very solid top 4 in any line up when they're firing on all cylinders... All guys with the ability to post .350 OBPs and some (or lots of) pop (with the probable exception of Reyes on the power front...)
  11. The Jays absolutely cannot give him a $100M contract, which is what he'll be looking for in FA.
  12. I expect "replacement level" from my #5 (anything better than that is gold) and I think that between Wang and Rogers we probably get a slightly above replacement level average (for as long as Rogers keeps pitching). With the offence that this team SHOULD provide, a 4.5 ERA from the back end of our rotation should win most of their games. You're right on Buehrle, I'd prefer him as the #4, and I have almost no faith in Dickey to be more than a mom-up-long-reliever quality pitcher over the course of this contract (with the occasional gem out of nowhere, I guess).
  13. It's unlikely that we keep him beyond this year, but a qualifying offer and a draft pick is not a terrible return (probably better than we'd get at the trade deadline). Though, if he doesn't pitch up to his potential this year, I'd say there's a slim (30-40%) chance that he re-ups for a year to try to build value for a big FA payday.
  14. The "Rogers won't be able to pitch out the season" comment is absolutely valid, so something needs to show up to take his place late season. I'm not altogether sure who that would be.
  15. Dickey is the one I'm really worried about the most. I'm okay with Buerhle at #3 and I believe that Johnson will turn it around and be a very good #1/2 (full disclosure, I've always been a big, big fan of Johnson).
  16. I'm talking results wise, and obviously only since they've joined the Jays, so there are SSS issues... I don't think they're a bad 4/5 for a rotation.
  17. Wang and Rogers are our 4 & 5... There aren't many teams with 4 & 5 pitchers significantly better than those two, contenders or no...
  18. I've never been to Wrigley, but at least it looks nice... Fenway looks like the whole thing is made of plywood, like the set of a low budget western movie.
  19. It's a urine stained garbage pile and should be bulldozed tomorrow, even if that means the Jays/Sox game has to be held at the local softball stadium with a gravel field.
  20. You look like you should probably not post anymore
