Hopefully for a few starts. This isn't the first time he's done it blatantly, just the first time he's been ejected for it. All I know is that Gibbons should have the ump check him if he even has pit stains next time he pitches against the Jays.

Uhh... isn't it more about the foreign substance affecting the spin and therefore the movement of the ball? If it was just about "blackening" the ball, nobody would even bother using it now, since that would be incredibly obvious, even to Orioles fans.
