  1. I picked a s*** day to not pick
  2. Okay, so... maybe we should stop walking people. Let's try that. Navarro is thinking too far ahead, I think.
  3. Game 79 - Rodriguez (LHP) - 16 games remaining in the 2nd half! Jose Reyes (3pts) - Josh Donaldson (1pt) -baseballlsss Jose Bautista (1pt) - Edwin Encarnacion (1pt) - Jonn Dionner Navarro (4pts) - Portobello Mushroom (3pts) - Danny Valencia (4pts) - Spanky99, o2, Deadpool Kevin Pillar (5pts) - LetTheBallFly, vdub Devon Travis (3pts) -frenchsoup, Candy Maldonado Bench (8pts) -
  4. I'm with you on Pompey being the everyday LF (well... CF, but I don't see them moving Pillar right now) but, my assumption is that they feel that Pompey will be a better long term player with more time in the minors right now, not that they don't realize that Goins is not a good option in LF.
  5. ... Okay? So... Victory for margins of error with pythag I guess? I really don't get how you can think that them scoring lots of runs AT THE WRONG TIME is somehow indicative of them being a bad team.
  6. .301/.333/.434 in June, 112 wRC+... Still above average, but cooling off from the crazy tear he was on before.
  7. Zaun is usually looking in the complete wrong direction with his analysis. It's not that he's slow on the uptake, it's that he's several counties away from the correct uptake.
  8. Also, was just playing around with the standings on ESPN, and the ALE is the only division in which the team with the best run differential is not the team winning the division.
  9. I'm not going to be the one doing it, but there are going to be some very funny comments quoting this...
  10. I think Castro should have been in A ball to start the season, but it wasn't Gibbons that had him up... He was good for a bit, then he got less good and was removed from high leverage situations. You can argue that he should have had a shorter leash, but you can say that Gibbons stuck with him for months, maybe 2 or 3 games longer than he should have, tops. Goins was in LF because we don't have a LF, and the other option was Zeke... Portabello is still hitting. He wasn't in the field today, AND we don't have a f***ing left fielder right now. He still has a 147 wRC+, and is sitting at 0.4 WAR in limited playing time. Valencia is probably one of the better fielders on the team, I have no issue with him being used... Navarro is s***, I can't really justify him being used much. Schultz has 0.2 WAR in 12 innings this year. Can't really fathom how someone would have had any issue with him in any way. I still think Smoak is hurt, so...
  11. Wow, I didn't even do the math, I just looked at the point he was trying to make and said "yeah, that's a stupid point." After you did the math it's an even stupider point. THIS MAN CLAIMS TO BE AN ACCOUNTANT AND HIS MATH IS THAT BAD. I will not hire you to be my accountant, RealAccountant (unless I need a money-man for this interesting little musical love letter to Hitler that I have been mulling about... Did you know that the Fuhrer was a terrific dancer?)
  12. Rasmus provided 6.7 WAR in his 3 seasons with the Jays. Not really an example of a guy that shouldn't have been traded for (considering we gave up Rzepczynski, Stewart and Patterson as the major pieces of that trade). Also, I spelled Rzepczynski from f***ing memory without googling it (until I googled it to make sure I had, in fact, spelled it correctly...) Rasmus is not an example of AA making a bad move, he got a decent piece for literally nothing that anyone around here remembers.
  13. Yeah, it means that Joe Maddon had a slightly better team over the course of his career.
  14. If you don't see how completely stupid that argument is, then well... you should consider a remedial course in "a manager is only as good as the team provided to him"....
  15. Wait... Are you suggesting that, long term, Colabello is a better asset than Smoak?
  16. Yeah, 'cause his boss told him to. If your boss tells you to do things and you don't do them, you lose your job no matter how competent you are.
  17. I get it, you don't really watch the games, you "feel" the games, you say a bunch of words and you rail against the manager because you know, deep down, that you could do a better job than that "bum". It's a really weird instinct that is shared by a vast swath of the fan bases of every team in professional sports, but it unites that group in a powerful way. Goddammit, you all say, fire the bum and the team will become greater than the sum of its parts! If only that one buffoon at the helm was replaced by me, or at least someone who thinks like me, this team would do great things! Gibbons is terrible at his job, because *I* question his moves, *I* would do things differently! *I* am 100% sure that I know what is happening in the dugout, and *I* could interpret all of those things into a winning strategy. Once the manager is fired, someone more like me will take charge and we will win it all! *I* am the best ever, and only my leadership can bring this team into the promised land! FIRE THE BUMS, NO MATTER WHO THEY BE!
  18. Yeah... The best bet is to stay away from the comments on any sports related article anywhere on the internet. Once in a while I forget that rule, and then I feel like I should punch myself in the face to make sure I'm not actually living in crazytown.
  19. If Pompey is ready, then f*** yes, bring him the f*** up! Or if Saunders is healthy... But we shouldn't be randomly adding people to the 40 man anymore, and even if we do, DSJ is the only one who might be even remotely ready at this point (and he's almost certainly not...)
  20. Yeah, so... The fapping guys are the girls in this video, the girl willing to actually fellate JD is Wayne/Garth with the pass... Not much of an issue...
  21. Who do they call up if he's hurt? I guess maybe another rotating pen arm, but that's about all they have that would make any sense. I can't honestly believe that the best fielding 1B on the team, who is a very competent switch hitting bat has had that little playing time in the past few weeks if there wasn't more to it.
  22. As much as I love Donaldson as a Jays fan, there's a pretty slim chance that I would actually fellate him.
