We do? Are we sure that's not just a thing people say because people have always said it? Pitching and Defense Wins, As Long As You Can Also Hit Pitching and defence certainly helps, but if you score 0 runs a game, no amount of pitching or defence will help you. -

At least the players are aware of this, and at least Donaldson wants something to change...

If the Reds are giving up Cueto and Chapman they would really have no need for a mediocre to poor catcher whose contract expires at the end of the year.

I'm not huge on Greek food overall (lamb and olives are both on my "not a fan of this foodstuff" list), but my heritage is mostly UK, so it's not a stretch to say that I prefer most foods over traditional British fare (bangers and mash notwithstanding.)

I honestly want the ASG to be the Royals v/ the Cardinals. It will just highlight how f***ing stupid the process is and possibly instigate some changes.

I have no more insight into that than you do. I'm just slightly encouraged by the fact that he had been getting a little bit better in every start, walks going down, K's going up.. Good signs. Still a LONG way to go before he's a guy I'd feel comfortable with.

I'm okay with 4 starts that are trending in the right direction. I'm not sold on Sanchez, but he has been showing slow, steady improvement over the season (he's still hot garbage, but trending away from that.)

First year in pro ball, coming back off of TJS... I'm willing to cut him some slack, he's got a great arm and I'm sure he'll develop it.

Brilliant line-up construction today, unconventional, but he did exactly what he needed to do to win. I have it on good authority that he gave Navarro a truly League Of Their Ownesque speech to inspire his performance at the plate. Also, he made sure that Hutchinson was okay, but not great, so that the Rays would feel that they had a chance, just to be sporting. Seriously, an incredible performance from the manager today, the team was actually a total afterthought. If he had done exactly the same thing with a team of 12 year olds, the results would have been the same, because that's just how good a manager he is!
