  1. He's clearly turned a corner and we should re-sign him to a 10 year, $350M deal.
  2. Drury is objectively worse, but I just have such a visceral hatred every time I see Panik's name in the lineup card.
  3. Of the names I think are possible, I'd be most upset with Dasan Brown, mainly because I like his upside and feel he hasn't been around long enough to get a grasp of what he'll become. That being said, he could very easily turn into Jonathan Davis and nothing of value would have been lost.
  4. Unless he's got a really bad/inaccurate arm, the skill set @ 3rd isn't markedly different from the one at SS. You may have to react slightly faster once in a rare while on a Vladdyesque grounder down the line, but as we've seen over the past month, there's NO defending a Vladdyesque grounder down the line... 42 games 4 years ago is not a meaningful sample in any way. He should be the primary 3B once Bichette is back.
  5. If I HAD to pick, the one on the right, but I'd rather grow a full-on mullet than wear either of those.
  6. I'm in the camp of "get your worst hitters fewer at bats". I wouldn't hit him 9th, probably ~7th. What needs to happen is removing Shaw from the 3rd spot, that's just an awful spot for him right now. Villar should be batting before guys like Shaw, Panik, Espinal, and both catchers (depending upon who remains with the team when all the roster moves are complete...) He's got a semi-respectable OBP, just a bit lower than his career average, but he's not a guy who "gets on base" at an impressive clip, so even if you buy the "turn the lineup over" argument, it's not some kind of automatic baserunner for Biggio at the top of the order. I mean, we all know that Chuckles will be batting him leadoff, but we're not talking about what history's greatest monster will do with the lineup, just what should be done.
  7. The Dodgers are a fantastic team, and in order to keep fantastic players, they have to get rid of good players. Stripling was likely superfluous for the Dodgers, and as Grant said above it's possible that they just didn't have a roster spot for him anymore.
  8. Twice he gets caught at home... Damn son.
  9. 33.2 IP. Sample size. Also, Ks down, walks up.
  10. Murphy is on the 60 man I believe, so wouldn't have to be a PTBNL.
  11. He and Cole are the guys I would generally trust the most of the ones who have been used "high leverage". Super uncomfortable when Dolis is on the mound, and we don't have Giles or Romano right now. If I'm handling this pen, he's probably my 5 or 6th favourite guy for high leverage if everyone is healthy (Giles, Romano, Merryweather, Hatch, Cole/Bass/Borucki, Dolis would be my order at the moment...)
  12. Either be a dick, or be wrong. Don't be both. You are currently both.
  13. Damn good throw Teo, just don't run in him, never works out.
  14. I don't get why he doesn't use guys like Hatch that can go multiple innings instead of Font in the 6th here. Put him in for the 6th and 7th, then Borucki (who admittedly didn't look great there...) for the 8th and Bass for the 9th. Hell Borucki should be able to go 2 innings if he's not sucking...
  15. Yeah, it's visually jarring. I mean, it got him to the majors so it's obviously working to a point, but man, it just looks uncomfortable.
  16. I mean, Buck was talking about "run producers" earlier, so it's not exactly a, uhh... font of insight.
  17. Between Drury and Panik, for optimum wastefulness.
  18. Yeah, I think he takes over at 3rd most of the time (in a perfect world, given our current roster construction). Though, I'm not sure he's a defensive upgrade over Drury, who is a very good 3B (but such a black hole with the bat that he shouldn't be anywhere near a MLB team ever again...). I'm not familiar enough with Villar's defence to say for sure, however.
  19. Ignoring advanced pitching metrics and then calling other people "a bunch of f***ing morons" when they correct you is an interesting play. Have you ever considered the likely possibility that you are a f***ing moron, and not those who correctly pointed out that you are cherry picking and using antiquated stats to make what you wrongly consider to be a point?
  20. I imagine he'll be the main SS until Bo is back...
  21. 7 Ks through 3.1 innings. Man the O's suck.
  22. I don't think he did anything against the rules. I just think it made him look like a dick. I mean, by all accounts he IS a dick, but y'know.
  23. What's the black square thing on Grandall's neck? One of those trendy sports medicine things that don't actually do anything like how "cupping" was a thing a few years back?
  24. It's also a message board where your opinions are open to criticism. Can't have the "I can post whatever I want" attitude and the "Don't be mean to me!" attitude at the same time.
