  1. This crapsack of a team does not deserve Ryu.
  2. Yeah, I'm shocked they didn't review that.
  3. Ryu is just going to have to strike out the rest of the batters that he faces, nobody else appears to have realized that they have a game tonight.
  4. Holy f***ing shitshow here... This is nonsense.
  5. Well at least Shaw leads off next inning :| Holy f***, nobody on this team can do anything right...
  6. Oh my god, that was just brutal...
  7. I'd probably put him 6th today, before Shaw, Espinal, Jansen.
  8. It's alright, we don't have a CF to compensate for that.
  9. Not enough, IMO.
  10. I don't think it's ever okay to intentionally hit someone with a 101 MPH fastball, even if you think it's fine to hit someone to "send a message" you don't do it with your top velocity. That's just reckless and even if you don't literally kill someone, you could easily break bones at that speed. That isn't a message, that's assault.
  11. Yeah, that struck me as odd as well, since he basically chose to be drafted by Toronto.
  12. I'm no fan of throwing at people intentionally, but if you ARE going to do it, a breaking ball in the ribs AT MOST. 101 MPH fastball at the head is basically attempted murder.
  13. If that was even partially intentional, he needs to be suspended for a while. I don't know the backstory to this, but that could have been lethal.
  14. Say what you will about the Great Leap Forward, Mao wouldn't be sac bunting so damn much...
  15. Is Ray not stretched out to be a starter? Or is this strictly a "he's sucking" move?
  16. 1 missed call is inexcusable. They're all terrible.
  17. Miguel Rojas' groundout is the lowest EV I've ever seen on Statcast. 39.2 MPH...
  18. I feel like the team thought Drury was going to be that right handed platoon guy, but that clearly was not in the cards...
  19. He cost us nothing in terms of prospects, and I can't really see another team putting a claim on him. He and Drury probably clear waivers... Gaviglio is likely gone, but you'll forget he existed in a week.
  20. Since Joe Musgrove has come up in this thread, I don't think anyone considers him "the one that got away" from the Jays. I think in 7 or 8 years we'll look back on trading Williams much the way we look back at trading Musgrove. "Would be nice to still have him, but oh well..."
  21. Not specifically mentioned in Shaw, or any player's contract, is the fact that if they suck they will be benched, DFA'd or otherwise not given playing time. It doesn't really need to be written down, most players would understand that.
  22. Well, they DFA'd 2 guys today, so I'm guessing that at least 2 of the new guys will be ready to go today. I don't believe they would have to make those roster moves until they were ready to be activated, but I could be wrong w/r/t the 40 man.
  23. Font's numbers are weird. Ks are up, walks are down, hr/fb is down. His FIP is a respectable (and career best) 3.91 and even his xFIP is only 4.27, but the results have been awful. BABIP is an absurd .472. It's a sample size of 11 innings, so most of that data isn't particularly useful beyond some short term trends, but his advanced metrics aren't bad at all this year.
  24. He's on the 60 man, and wouldn't be a PTBNL because of that.
  25. Yeah, but our other options at 3rd are considerably worse. It's not that I think he'll be great there, just that he won't be Panik or Shaw.
