    Okay, so let's say for a moment that during perfectly consensual rough sex, he'd killed her. That's still murder (or manslaughter) and he would be convicted easily. Consensual rough sex shouldn't leave marks or lasting damage of any kind, if it does, you are doing it wrong, holy f***balls. It's about control, dominance and the illusion of danger, but it should always be 100% safe. This is the reason that every single person you know who is into BDSM (and it's more than you think...) isn't walking around with bruises on their face constantly. If she does, in fact, have a skull fracture the fact that she requested rough sex doesn't matter, that's assault. I'm not saying he's guilty, that's not for me to decide, but what has been released (from both sides) certainly looks bad.

    Not that I believe either side at this point, there's just not nearly enough information, but this does happen particularly in a power disparity situation. "I really want this celebrity to like me... Maybe he didn't mean it..." that sort of thing.

    I sure f***ing hope not, he's not even close to the best pitcher in the league. He's got the same WAR as a pitcher as Flexen, just BARELY in the top 30 in the AL.

    I offer Semien a QO (A's didn't give him one last year), and I'm happy if he takes it, and also happy if he walks. I'd give him a multi-year, big payday contract if we didn't already have the pieces that we have (MLB and Minors), but I just don't see how he fits on a team w/ Bo, Biggio, Martin, and Groshans all in the mix in 1-2 years. Certainly a good problem to have, and it's certainly possible that he's the best player of the 5 I've mentioned, but $20-$25M (assuming that's what he commands) could impact signing Bo/Vladdy long term, and could probably be better spent on areas of need. I won't be pissed if he's signed to a reasonable ~4 year deal though.

    Taijuan Walker would have been a solid re-sign as well, but I'm generally comfortable w/ our rotation right now surprisingly...

    They'd best not be giving Flexen these pitches just off the plate... I can't complain about the zone (yet), as long as it doesn't get wider when the Jays are batting.

    They've been primarily using Biggio as an outfielder lately, so they can stop doing that now.

    I love when the minor leaguer is someone that I've never heard of! 24 year old reliever in AA. About the definition of a nothing prospect.
