    The Mets and Dickey were struggling to negotiate a deal and Dickey openly said he forgo negotiation talks after the season started. AA had leverage but lacked the patience.

    Arencibia had 151 total bases to Thole's 93 last year - Thole played more games

    A walk is only one base a HR is 4 bases

    Thole only had 27 BB last year, I consider a HR the equivalent of 4 walks

    Thole plays slightly better D (doesn't throw real well), hit for about the same average and a OBP maybe under .300. I'll take the clutch hitting, higher HR and RBI totals.
