I hate Schilling for his past 2 years he has gone full derp but what he said yesterday had me finally agreeing with him on something. He said in the AL East the best acquisition of the off season and the one to pay the biggest dividends was going to be Shapiro.
Ya he had 1 good year with us a couple years ago then after that he turned into a pumpkin like most relievers. Which is why you don't go hog wild on relievers in free agency we have better in house options in Leon and Biagini.
This is my concern. Lets say Sanchez has figured something out and is going to be a solid 2-3 type pitcher. Is it not better for him to skip starts early so he is there when you need him later on.
Not a huge concern for me because i don't believe the first part of what i said but the fun thing about baseball is anything is possible. So i would like to see him get skipped in the first 2 - 3 months so they don't have to sit him later on if he proves valuable.
I will set the over/under that Chavez will get 10 starts this season.
With them wanting to limit Sanchez innings (if he gives them no reason to bump him completely from the rotation) he will get some spot starts and it is extremely rare that a rotation goes a full season without some kind of injury.
I would not classify this with the other 2. Estradas best season was in 2012 when he put up a 3.3WAR, 2013 he matched what he did last year by putting up a 1.8 WAR, and 2014 was his only down year.
Better then the ways we have been loosing i guess.
Bases loaded 2 outs Donaldson up but we won't use him we want to surprise them so we pinch hit Collabello. Then we are surprised when it does not work.
