    I was going to say this. There are a good portion of the i am going to call it fair weather fans hat will puff their chest out and Yell " YA CANADAS TEAM!!!" Followed up by " ODOYAL RULES!" lol But i do think the Canadas team works on half the population... More or less not the big time baseball fans because lets face it they got that money already.

    Thought he was the first base coach. I know it really doesn't matter but i am not sure if it gets the Vottos of the world there. I think it is case that canadian and american players have to think that this Tournament means something. Like previously mentioned the World Cup of Soccer is huge because their is so much prestige, The Olympics are the Olympics and in the eyes of a lot of hockey players the pinnacle. I don't know how you get the WBC to mean more in North America like it does to the Latin Teams.

    And by the sounds of it JD is going to start DHing this week so good news on the injury front. Pearce is starting to throw from 150ft so they are hoping he is back playing in the field soon... Everything sounds good until one of them has a set back and the board goes up in flames.

    Been to Minnesota the last 3 years and it is 1/2 jays fans and everyone from Minnesota say they love it because they never have any issues and it makes downtown so much fun.

    I don't know but unless they go full on John Olerud i don't know what can be done..... I am with Boxy thinking a Hat with padding is not going to make a huge difference.

    I think that is it. The Olympics for hockey has been around forever and it was just molded in to you that it is the pinnacle as is the World Cup. This is the third year of this and i think players are still thinking of something optional.... I don't know how you can get ball players out of that mindset.

    It would nice if other countries treated it like the DR or something but when you got one of the best pitcher in the world (Kershaw) and THE best player in the world (Trout) not really wanting to play in it, ad Kershaw admitted in an interview he was not fond of the timing then it takes something away from it.

    Ya I am just saying in terms of a meaningless tourney.. Some players may not see it as worth it and want to just get ready for the season... And obviously there are players who see that by looking at players backing out of team USA.

    Why i think it is dumb having the WBC on this time of year. Guys are not at 100% yet and who is to judge him if he is more committed to the team thats paying him millions then a meaningless tourney that likely sees them eliminated in the first round. I know i am likely one of the few that says if you want to make up a tournament like this do it at the end of the year like the World Hockey Championships.

    Would not make sense on Lirianos part. He is 33 years old and his last chance to get another nice contract. Makes sense for him to gamble on a good season and get a final contract that takes him to 37 years old

    He will be on the roster. Vet Pitchers get knocked around sometimes in Spring whether its them working on one pitch or something else but i don't see them cutting him.

    Real possibility that Liriano is our best starting pitcher this season.
