    40m dollar sunk cost anyway. You can pay him 40M to take up a spot on the roster or pay him to walk...... With a young team it makes more sense to just get out of the contract and make room for someone else that can help the team.

    I don't think we are going to get much for Sanchez as its his walk year and he has been dealing with issues the last two. I don't know what the right answer is regarding him but if teams are not going to offer you anything more than a few wild cards then it may make more sense to hold on to him..... I just don't see how we get much of anything for him at this point.

    If its true that Mariners are shipping 60M to the mets then this is a good trade for the Mets. Lets assume that Diaz + the 3 prospects is a wash (Maybe a bit of an over pay but not much). That leaves Cano on 5 years for 60M averaging 12M per year, i would bet that the Mariners could get most of that value out of him. Mariners are really dropping a deuce this off season.

    I am expecting some high scoring games.... 2 highly offensive teams whose defenses are the drizzling shits right now, if there is one silver lining its that the Helly is looking pretty good considering all the rubber he faces.

    See i don't think Reese is going to out hit Martin. What Reese did in September is what we are likely to get. That being said i think Jansen spending a year getting the majority of the catching Time with Martin as a mentor is probably a lot more valuable then eating 16M of his contract to get 2 fringe players.

    So essentially you are wanting to pay 16M to get 2 prospects that ARE NOT likely to be top 10 prospects in the organization. Does not make a lot of sense does it.
